No chance of that, but I'd be ecstatic if we get 10,000 NIU fans. It'll be definitely be our best turnout ever at a MACC.

Is there any minimum amount of tickets NIU must buy? Example, for BCS games every school has to purchase 15,000 tickets. If so, whatever number that is. But it would be nice to get 10,000 plus fans. I believe the core fan base is roughly 10k-15k.

I estimate the MACCs in the past NIU has brought ~5-7k

There is no minimum number of tickets. The upper decks of Ford Field will be empty and the lower bowl maybe 30% full with most of the fans between the 20s.

It will be more this time around, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to have your team in 100 percent control of its destiny for a BCS game. The NIU ticket office is going to be swamped in the morning.

With proximity of BG, there should be a minimum of 30k at this game.

How can someone get tickets besides through one of the school's ticket offices?

The ticket office is slammed this morning. I tried to call and order will call tickets and they said they would have to call me back.

I suppose that is a good thing though I will now have some anxiety until my order is placed. Edited to say that the ticket office called me back and my order is now placed. I cannot wait for the game!

Tickets can be bought at the game. No problems. I've done it the last two years. Plenty of scalpers too. It's a 70,000 seat venue and they give tickets away to locals to try and fill it. It's not hard to get a ticket. Once in, you can almost sit anywhere 20-30 rows up. there are usually no more than 10,000 fans per side. Tickets at Ford Field were $15 last year at game time.

According to the Ticketmaster web site and the NIU ticket office (based on a call and e-mail), MACC tickets may be picked up at the Convo Center beginning tomorrow (December 3) at 9 a.m. and ending Wednesday (December 4) at 5 p.m. If anyone goes to the Convo to pick up their tickets, would you please post your experience here? I plan on going on Wednesday, but I do not want to waste time making the trip if it turns out that the tickets are not available.

It's not that I don't trust our ticket office, but.....yeah, I guess I just don't trust them.
