That would mean there was no BCS buster, and the PAC 12 would place an extra in the BCS for sure, meaning they have only one extra...which might open something up for us.

I have. The point is...as it is, there is no way the Pac 12 will place two because the SEC, ACC, and Big 10 or Big 12 will in addition to NIU. An NIU loss gives the PAC 12 a legit chance instead of no chance.

Our AD just said its pretty much Mobile or nothing...So its looks like only 2 Sun Belt teams will be bowling this season...

If that PAC 12 is available, we're doomed. If one is not available, then it falls back to the Sun Belt. That means either ASU or ULM.

I've tried my best to be supportive of this conference. It has the potential of being a very strong football conference, but the operations of the Sun Belt is so bush-league. If we become the co-champs or even placed 2nd place in the conference and still get left out in the cold, then we need to GTFO fast! Being conference co-champs and not getting a bowl would be devastating for our recruiting.

Bowl selection show is tomorrow night @ 8 p.m. on ESPN. It's a 2 hour show, so all the bowls will be talked about, with very little emphasis on the small ones.

The open Bowl slot was the Pinstripe Bowl, which Notre Dame filled.

I purposefully did not list the Pinstripe because I already knew Notre Dame had accepted the spot, thus it was not open. I listed the Texas Bowl because either Oklahoma State or Oklahoma will probably take one of the BCS at-large spots, thus freeing that spot for someone else. While it's possible that Oregon or Arizona State may get one of the BCS at-large spots, Oklahoma may be seen as a more viable candidate, as they have momentum coming into the post season. We'll see.

With the ACC and Pac 12 having two extra teams each (assuming Oklahoma over Oregon for BCS), that takes up four of the six open slots. The MAC has the backup in St Pete, eliminating another. That leaves one final slot for the final MWC team, the MAC and SBC teams, and FAU. Which bowl ends up being the one that doesn't get an ACC or Pac 12 team is the mystery. I'd say it's likely to be either Poinsettia or Independence.

Until its a done deal, you just can't say that. As it stands now, that bowl isn't open. The at-large spots go to teams that sell a lot of tickets or create a match-up. There are countless instances where four or five teams with higher rankings were passed over for another team.
