It comes across as mean when a fan of a school of 13,718 students, with a 2012 attendance average of 24,896, makes an exaggerated statement about a school of 6,353 students with a 2012 attendance average of 20,325.

I think the very worst for C-USA is if the game is at ECU where the ESPN announcers can say over and over again that the Pirates are moving to the AAC next year.

That is exactly what I mentioned in the thread about this very topic last week. ESPN is just going to beat that subject to death and beyond. That would be horrible for CUSA, but for obvious reasons I think that that is exactly what is exactly going to be happening, because the numbers say that Rice and ECU will be meeting for the title.

I really doubt this happens more than once. I've seen the Pirates on TV a couple of times this year and they've yet to mention this......there's no love for AAC from ESPN... it's just filler...

Please I have seen your games and that stadium looks like a ghost town. One of my coworkers went to the game @Rice last year and there were people driving up to them in the parking lots asking if there was even a game. You stadium is too big for your team and it shows on TV. If there is a championship game in Huntington there will be a better showing then there would be at Rice.

I agree with you. Nothing against ECU and the decision you made (all of us would probably leave the current C-USA for the MWC or AAC although that could change if UTSA, North Texas, Florida Atlantic, Middle Tennessee, and others keep raising their programs), and I wish you the best in your new conference home. But I would rather the ESPN announcers say everyone expected Tulsa and ECU to be here, and it is a measure of the strength of C-USA that the championship is between Rice and Marshall instead.

I completely understand where you are coming from but there is exactly a 0% chance anyone from ESPN says the following "But I would rather the ESPN announcers say everyone expected Tulsa and ECU to be here, and it is a measure of the strength of C-USA that the championship is between Rice and Marshall instead." There is a much greater chance that they say the opposite. Whether it is true or not...ESPN doesn't exactly have any love for non-BCS conferences.

Definitely little to no respect for the AAC from the "tools" of the sports media at ESPN. They really don't want to see any representative of this conference be on the recieving end of any BCS-generated revenue or relevance. They want them on the outside looking in like Conference USA.

Elitist, arrogant & condesending (bleepity-bleeps!!!)

Rice got a small shout out from ESPN today.

You earned it. Other than that your comment is meritless.
