Kyle Rowland is reporting "per sources" Monmouth's Ginny Boggess has been hired.
She was one I had on my list of current low-major HCs to consider. But if this is true, this is probably the quickest hire in history. How could they have settled on someone so fast?

Perhaps as a professional, the AD had a short list and knew Cullop's exit was imminent? Doesn't seem a mystery to me.
Seems like a very underwhelming hire

She turned Monmouth around in a hurry. What do you see as the problem?

But 5 days? Would be good to know how many they interviewed.
May have been involved in recruiting Garcia to Penn State while she was there, although Penn State was really bad the 2 seasons she spent there. Also coached several years at Marquette.

Turned Monmouth around from 2 wins to 22 wins in 3 seasons, in the CAA.
I think these are some impressive accomplishments in her three years at Monmouth as stated in Rowland's Blade article:

"Monmouth’s 14 wins in Boggess’ debut season marked a 12-win improvement, the largest single-season turnaround in program history. In 2022-23, Boggess led Monmouth to its first winning season in 16 years. Monmouth was 22-10 last season, its first 20-win season in more than two decades and the third-most wins in program history."
She was possibly in the mix for the Marquette job, so maybe that is why UT felt the need to move quickly, if they were sure she is the one, but they could not have done much of a search for that quick a hire.
She sounds like a good hire to me, for this to happen this quickly he obviously had her targeted if something happens. We will see how it works out.
Saw an interview with her. Trying to figure out the accent. Where's Wingate?

North Carolina, but she's from West Virginia
Hard to tell. She's been at lots of schools for short periods of time. Beat Buffalo. Averaged 738 for home games last season.
Key issues to be determined: Can she keep existing players? Can she keep high school commits? Is she bringing any former players with her? Is she keeping any of the existing coaches? What type of players can she acquire from the portal?

Lots for her to do right away.

Yes, and this is why Blair wanted to move as quickly as possible. Of course, making the right hire is more important than doing it quickly, but if you can make the right hire quickly, that's ideal. If you lose most of the team and field a lousy team next year, you can lose fan support in a hurry.
I would have to believe given Coach Collups’ professionalism and how she was basically hand-picked by Miami’s coach to be the next replacement there, Toledo’s AD had already been informed by Coach Collup that she would not be returning. I’m guessing she told the AD prior to the WBIT. I’m sure that sped the process up. Perhaps the selection was hand-picked by Collup as well.
She also led Monmouth to the NCAA Tournament in her second season by winning the CAA tournament as the 7 seed. Monmouth only won 2 games the season before she took over and they won 22 games this past season. Quite a turnaround!

Who is Cullop taking? What coaches is she taking? We are so excited to wish her well that we never thought how she will handle the transition. Look no further than Ann Arbor to see what a departing coach can do to a staff for football.
