The ACC and Big12 could spear head this and let the SEC and B1G do their own thing.

Bring back a BCS type of system that was flawed, but was still interesting to watch. Gimmie something like this:

Fiesta, Cotton, CFA and Orange are the access bowls, 6 schools are selected from ACC, Big12, ND and the G5, nobody has an auto bid. These 3 bowls are played and 2 of the 3 best winners play in the NC game. The NC game rotates between these 4 bowl sites.

Example:

Fiesta - TCU vs Fresno St

Cotton - Ok St vs ND

CFA - Memphis vs UNC

Orange - A computer ranks the 3 winners, best 2 play.
My thoughts are:

Let all 4 of the big leagues do their own playoff individual and crown a champion at a NYD/E bowl. The SEC and Big 10 can do a +1 between their champs and the ACC and Big 12 can do a +1 between theirs.

Let the AP and Coaches decide who that national champion is.

The G5 can do whatever they see fit for a post season—CCGs in early December followed by a 5+3 playoff?

Everyone keeps their own money.
ACC and Big 12 wouldn't ever go for that. Recruiting would absolutely tank. Money would get even more and more disparate.

And you are delusional if you really think Notre Dame would go along with that frankly dreck.

We aren't going backwards to where the dumb polls decide anything. The ACC and Big 12 presidents were UNANIMOUS. That should tell you something. It's happening. Whether ACC or Big 12 or G5 fans like it or not.
Break off? You kidding me? Break off? I just want us to keep winning some games.

Still favors the $$ schools. Why are the $$ schools so afraid of having a fair and inclusive 16 team playoff where ALL conference champions get an autobid?

It’s not that they are afraid, they just want more money for themselves and less for everyone else.

Big 10 and SEC are already doing that to them.
