So, the person claiming "unrelenting" racism, sexism, and islamaphobia won a city council election? 03-lmfao

Moron.
Hey, it's Boston. They hate themselves. 03-lmfao
My Boston story.

I was in Boston many years back, business trip at my first job out of college, and we went out to eat at a restaurant. After the meal the waitress brings us a desert menu. Lo and behold it had apple cobbler on it. I ordered it. A few minutes later the waitress puts a plate in front of me. It was covered with steamed apples with some kind of crumbles and some cinnamon lightly sprinkled over it.

I politely said, "there must be some mistake, I ordered apple cobbler". She said, "That IS apple cobbler".

I said, in my best Alan Jackson voice, "Not where I come from".

True story.
Boston in particular has a bad reputation in the racism circles.... There are some very good people there, but there are also many (too many) that have helped them earn, and keep, that reputation.

If you want to get a pit in your stomach watch Murder in Boston if you have a MAX subscription. It is a 3 part series covering an infamous murder in which the blame was pinned on a black man, when in fact it was the white man who made the accusation who did it. Most of you will be angered by it - but it was a very interesting story non the less.
Hmmmm... let's see. A turban wearing foreigner woman. What could possibly go wrong? GOT MY VOTE!!!!

I have Max. I'll check it out. I almost never watch Max, but I get it free. Nice to hear of something worth watching on it.
I’ll say it again. If they call you a racist, wear it like a badge of honor. That’s is their only play.
When they can’t win with policy, they move to calling everyone a racist who doesn’t agree with their twisted views of the world.

I would rather be called a racist than a Democrat…. or a Republican for that matter.
Boston has one of the ugliest City Halls I've ever seen. The one they built in the 1800's looked amazing. Then they built a concrete brutalist monolith that feels like it is a direct representation of a government sucking your soul dry. Seems to fit with them well though.

This is the truth. I have never been in a US city so openly racist toward blacks, and I have been all over.

Southern Brasil, surprisingly, also has such racism embedded in their language, where the higher-black populations in the north as referred to, unhesitatingly, as "_iggers." It made me a bit uncomfortable with how freely that word was thrown around, and I am no prude.
Boston Democrat city councilor disrespects America, REFUSES to raise hand and recite oath of office

Quote:On Monday, a Boston city councilor, who was busted for not reciting the oath of office during the city’s inauguration, was told to do it again.

While Mayor Michelle Wu, still reeling from accusations of discrimination against white officials, was leading the councilors in the oath of office, Councilor Tania Fernandes Anderson was caught on video not raising her hand or speaking during the entire recitation.

According to The Boston Herald, the councilor was told, both verbally and in writing, to retake the oath by new council president Ruthzee Louijeune and the city’s law department because, according to the city charter, city councilors are required, “before entering upon the duties of his office,” to “take, and subscribe in a book to be kept by the city clerk for the purpose, the oath of allegiance and oath of office prescribed in the constitution of this commonwealth and an oath to support the constitution of the United States.”

Fernandes Anderson wrote in a statement posted to X on Thursday night that it was a “non incident” and “anti-immigrant racist vitriol.”

“So, let me get this straight: You’re okay with someone mindlessly mouthing an oath only to betray every promise they’ve ever made, but me internalizing my oath, committing a prayer between myself and God in honor of that very oath is a problem for you?”

Last year, Fernandes Anderson confessed to ethical violations resulting from hiring her sister and her son as paid employees of her staff, earning $70,000 in salaries, and agreed to pay a $5,000 fine, according to Boston.com.
