I heard we’re recruiting #3 whose tackling skills may upgrade our secondary immediately:

I'm going fully "Sunshine Steve" on this one.

#3 on defense has good size for his age. Good quicks. Able to diagnose runnin plays and get to the ball. Knows how to seal the edge on sweeps allowing others to make the tackle.
03-lmfao

With good coaching and hard work in the weight room he could be a player at the next level. 03-lmfao 03-lmfao "untapped potential."

Final assesssment: may be able to make the 2-deeps on his h.s. junior varsity team.
Dear emu79,
Thanks for the information. My only comment so far, is that the wide receiver group, is made up of some very small people. Most under six feet tall, and 160 to 170 pounds in weight or less.

Yes, and also four of the seven WR offers are 6'0" or taller. The other thing to remember is we are talking about high school juniors...some of these guys might not even be 17 years old yet, so most are still growing.
Dear Sellers dweller,
I totally agree that people can still be growing, but that does not mean that small statured people at seventeen, are all going to grow more.
My point about size was that won't it be easier to throw the ball to someone 6' 3" than someone four or five inches shorter?

Depending what you're trying to do, yes. If you're throwing fade to the end zone, then yeah it'd be nice to have a taller guy that can high point the ball over a corner. But overall, I just want guys that can get open. Tyreek Hill and Amon-Ra St. Brown were 1st and 3rd overall in yards and neither is over 6'0".

We have done a nice job of bringing in some guys with size. Walker (6'3"), Floyd (6'4"), Wilkins (6'3") all have four years of eligibility left.
I'm not sure but I expect this class to be on the smaller side in terms of numbers.

You are the recruiting guru to be sure. We are, however, in uncharted territory with the portal.
I guess my question would be how.many open scholarships are open in 2025 considering all the new faces in 2024?
Looks like we got our first commit yesterday. No idea who it is..
I will say this about Coach Creighton, they do a fantastic job socializing their recruiting efforts. You can tell they are working very hard! I would bet 95% of the Midwest high school football coaches know EMU’s head football coaches name.
First 2025 commit: Tamarley Smith, OL out of Ontario. Offers from Boston College and Buffalo.

Looks like a nice win since he picked us over BC!
