Just saw this. Expected to make full recovery but won't be coaching for the tournament.
Awful. Prayers lifted for Coach Jones for a full recovery.
For nothing but health concerns i feel he should hang it up coaching wise. Felt that way for a while.

Pray for his full recovery.

Lifting Coach up in prayer tonight.
Prayers to your coach, his family, and the Monarch nation.
Sorry to hear the bad news. As much as sports are cutthroat competition, you never want to see anyone suffer a serious health issue.
Best wishes for his quick and complete recovery.
Tuned into the game late and wondered why I didn’t see him on the sideline.
Definitely sending prayers his way!

Agreed that there are some things that are bigger/more important than sport. It is sad that there are some JMU supporters who have better decorum towards ODU than some ODU fans.

So true Nukesquad. This is horrible news. Wishing Coach Jones the best.
I am convinced that Jeff Jones might have coached his last game against JMU, but take it with a grain of salt. I enjoyed his presence at ODU. He has had a 30-game home winning streak (longest in ODU Men's Basketball History), the first top 25 appearance in ODU Men's Basketball history, C-USA Champion - Regular Season and Tournament (2019), Vegas 16 Champion (2016), and C-USA Coach of the Year (2019). I wish him a speedy recovery.

I really hope not. I hope Jeff can return, safely, at some point this season. I am hopeful he can finish out the year.

I think he could return this season. Sounds like they feel he will make a full recovery but I think it will take some time for him to return.

Maybe, but, with all of the health issues he has had, I truly pray he puts his health first. If he’s completely fine and wants to coach, great. If not, there are far more important things than basketball.
This is an unfortunate turn of events for him. It must be horrible to have this happen so far from home with no family nearby to give him support. At least the team and staff are there, but they still have a job to do. Hoping for a speedy recovery so he can come home soon.
Sorry (and surprised) to hear of this yesterday. Hope Jeff is able to make a full recovery and live a long and happy life.

Luckily, his wife was in Hawaii with him.

That's good to know!
Here's hoping for Coach to have a complete and speedy recovery. Our prayers are with him and his family.

Hard to know. Wish him a speedy recovery and hope it was very mild, but I think we should not expect to see him on the sidelines for 2 to 3 weeks at best depending on how bad it was. I know how stressful it is for fans, so I can't imagine a doctor going "sure, jump right into that high stress environment."

I did not stay at a holiday in, just preparing myself for a Donohue coached team for a while.
