All the realignmentologists calling for Chicago State to close down, and Chicago State is here joining conferences and taking down top-25 teams this week like it's Halloween candy.

CHICAGO STATE SLAYED CSNBBS!
Incredible win! There were so few people on their bench to celebrate the ending was a bit weird. Just a tremendous night for Chicago State!

Congrats but sad it happened after northwestern finally was ranked
The BIG is awful.

The SEC will be the better of the two P2 in both revenue sports.

CHICAGO STATE SLAYED CSNBBS!

This was a lot more fun for me to watch than CSU’s last notable win—versus New Mexico State at the end of WAC regulalar season play 2022. And the WAC Champion Aggies went on to beat UConn in the NCAA tournament game not long after that.

For those keeping track, this is the 4th Big 10 victory for Chicago State, in 4 different sports since Fall 2022.

Women’s hoops beat Wisconsin last year. Volleyball beat Indiana last year. Mens soccer beat Northwestern last year, and now we can add men’s basketball to the list.
It’s one thing to beat a B1G team, but a ranked one? Kudos to Chicago St!
Nice win
Go Cougars!
The unofficial official team of this board. I think they have more fans here than in Chicago.

Big, big win. Congratulations to the Cougars.
Assuming most people here weren’t watching, here’s some stats that were key to the win.

Northwestern outshot Chicago from the floor, and by a decent clip from 3.

But Chicago out rebounded them by a slim margin. And the Cougars were 19-22 from the line. Turnovers were even, but Chicago State had a lot of steals, and turned those into a 14-4 advantage in fast break points. Chicago also ended the game hitting 6 of their last 7 field goal attempts.

Didn't Arkansas get beat by a small In state school as well?

CHICAGO STATE SLAYED CSNBBS!

There goes MState's quality quad one win.
Lets go future NEC member Chicago St!
First off, congratulatiions to Chicago State---one of the most maligned D-1 schools in America (according to messages on this board). The recap of the game on the CBS Sports website is pretty good. Northwestern did themselves no favors from the foul line, going just 13 of 20 on the night. The Wildcats, strangers to college basketball rankings, were bidding for their first win as a ranked team since 1959!

CSU, which lost at home Saturday to St. Thomas in front of 127 fans, beat Northwestern in hoops for the first time in 15 tries. Also on Saturday, Northwestern was pounding winless Detroit into submission. It prompted me to tell a friend the Horizon League should do the right thing and add Chicago State as a memeber so the conference would have a nice, round number of 12 schools in it. Then I come on here and see where the Cougars had been accepted as the Northeast Conference's 8th member, beginning next summer! Yeah, I know...late to the party and all that.

Coach Gerald Gillion said the win was probably the biggest college upset in the State of Illinois history. Can't really argue with that assertion, unless you can find an instance where Knox or some D-3 school beat one of the original D-1 schools back in the day (Northwestern, DePaul, Loyola, Bradley, Illinois).

Does that mean we should see St. Thomas in the Top 25 next week? 07-coffee3
Isn't "top 25 Northwestern" technically an oxymoron???
NEC invite and now Top 25 men's basketball win.

December to remember for Chi State.
