If UC scores 80 points you get 50% off your next furnace inspection.
Can't wait!

Hopefully they offer those type deals in future games (specifically the Dec 22 game), I need some Christmas stocking stuffers!

There are a lot of grumblings about how Cincinnati is playing. In the last game, they did not make a ton of three pointers. Look for them to come out in this game and try to pound the Bryant defense.

Bryant is making progress. It's hard to stand on the sideline and watch your team not try to win basketball games, buy merely play respectively. Now, when the coach talks to his team, he tells them they have a chance to win.
Feels like a lot of momentum has been lost after Saturday. I see $15 lower bowl seats are being sold for the remaining home games, hopefully the crowds continue to show up despite the mediocre opponents.

This year's pre-conference schedule is so bad. They've been fortunate that fans have, for the most part, still showed up.

Confident those are the student tickets being repurposed. I know my little cousin is a freshman at UC. UC sells the student tickets by month. He bought November and January, but didn't buy December because he'll be at home much of the month (UC exams are done...they are finished until next year).

The nonconference home schedule has been bad for the last several years, yet fans have consistently shown up. They are dying for an entertaining winner.
It is a fun team to watch and a good place to watch a game.
Don't we say this every year going back to Mick's tenure - cupcake schedule? 100% guarantee the same guys fussin' would be pissed because we played too hard OOC schedule with the B12 gauntlet coming up. IIRC, Wes played a ranked Illinois and Arkansas in Year One. Played in the Maui tourney last year. Here's who we still play this year...

Dayton [Neutral]
@#18 BYU
19 Texas
@#6 Baylor
TCU
11 Oklahoma
@#2 Kansas
UCF
@WVU
@Texas Tech
#4 Houston
Iowa St
@UCF
Oklahoma St
@TCU
@#4 Houston
Kansas St
@#11 Oklahoma
West Virginia

Damn cupcakes! Get the **** outta' here with that crap!

When it comes to Selection Sunday the committee uses out of conference strength of schedule as part of their criteria. This year, undefeated or not, we will be severely lacking.

I understand that but OOC isn't going to matter if we can't go at least .500 in that B12 schedule. NET rankings also matter. Despite the OOC cupcakes, we're still ranked at 25.

It will be interesting to see where UC's nonconference SOS ends up. The committee really only seems to penalize teams when it is below 300. Beyond that as long as teams have enough Q1/Q2 wins (either in or out of conference) it probably won't matter much. If UC is one of the last 4 in and it's down at 330 or something like that, it could be the thing that keeps them out. But I think they did a reasonably good job with the buy games, so I'm hoping it will end up closer to 250. I don't think a 250 non conference SOS (with a top 25 overall SOS) will hurt UC as all. Just get to 22 wins and all will be fine.

Playing a super tough nonconference schedule this year would have been dumb, I agree. I do think it's unfortunate that we've played virtually no good home nonconference games in years. I can't even think of the last one. Tennessee in Brannen's first season?
Apparently, Jeff Sagarin is no longer ranking college hoops teams. ESPN OOC ranking has Cincinnati currently at 248. For comparisons, Pitt 289. Nevada 281. Louisville 276. Maryland 267. Kentucky 241. Baylor 239. Oklahoma 228. BYU 226.

FWIW. ESPN ranks our remaining schedule strength at #15.

I'll give ya that. I don't know how our team was looked at for home and home scheduling prior to B12 membership. Folks may not have wanted to play us at 5/3rd because of our tweener status. Also, those exempt tournaments under Wes may have impacted our willingness to schedule other tough OOC at home. We did play Georgia at home in Wes's first season and Georgia Tech of course this year. That may turn out to be a bigger win than any of us originally thought.
This stuff is derailing the game thread LOL. Should be in the Bearcats season thread but...here are the remaining OOC games and current NET ranking...

Bryant 193
Dayton 44
Merrimack 185
Stetson 260
Evansville 111

Outside of Stetson, that's not turrible heading into B12 gauntlet play.

And Stetson has a win over UCF.
