Tigers should send Reid Bauer out for the coin toss then hide his helmet.
If he makes an appearance in the game the Tigers may not have a chance in this game.
This is one of those games where just one unproductive series could decide the outcome.
SMU is top 10 in scoring offense, scoring defense, and total offense, while 11th in total defense.
Not to mention top 10 in sacks and top 15 in pass defense.
Tigers MUST find a way to protect Seth in this game or it could get ugly.
This is the one game that we do not want to throw an inexperienced Carter out there to run for his life all day.
Must find a way to get a running game going so SMU cannot come after Seth on every play.
If SMU does have a weakness it is in swpecial teams where they have allowed three blocked punts.
They're also weak in kick returns, but that may be to lack of returns.
They're ranked 3rd in the AAC in turnover margin behind Navy ad the Tigers.
SMU is either 1st or 2nd in the AAC in 19 statistical categories.
And top 10 nationally in 8 statistical categories.
While top 15 nationally in 10 others.
While Seth is averaging well over 30 passes per game (over 49 the last two), Stone only throws in the mid to low 20s per game but is averaging almost 18 yards per completion, up from 5 yards last year.
Maryland leads the team with 6 receiving TDs, followed by Hudon with 5 and Daniels with 4.
All three in the top 12 in the AAC.
Knighton is averaging 5.77 yards per carry and 71.1 yards per game.
His back up Johnson is averaging 53.4 yards per game rushing.
Knighton and Weaton have 5 rushing TDs and Lavine with 4.
SMU's scoring is so well spread out you cannot focus on a single guy.
The twin prophets Elijah Roberts and Elijah Chatman are averaging 1.3 sacks per game between them.
Again with their tackles spread between the defense in a way that there's no real weak spot and can't focus on doubling a certain defender.
Watson is currently 91 yards away from becoming a member of the Tigers 1,000 yard rushing club and 1 rushing TD from joining a current 4 way tie for 7th in single season rushing TDs.
Seth is 247 yards away from the 10,000 passing yards club.
And 1 passing TD from tying Ferguson for third all time with 70 passing TDs.
He's matched last year's total of 22 passing TDs and is 3 shy of his career best of 25 for a season.
Tiger Tid Bits: Each of the last 4 Tigers QBs, (Lynch, Ferguson, White and Henigan) have had single season passing yardage numbers good enough to make the top 10 in Tigers CAREER passing yards.
Conclusion Tigers will need to play a near perfect game in order to be in a position to win this week.
Mental lapses and stupid penalties must be avoided.
Teams have discovered our achilies heel when it comes to picks on drag plays across the middle and wheel routes.
They've been exploiting them and picking up large chunks.
Our corners cannot be caught looking into backfield as they have done quite often this year.
If they do Stone will carve them up.
The front 7 must find a way to slow the SMU run attack.
