Quote:Former President Donald Trump signed the Abraham Accords, on September 15, 2020. It was one of the last major foreign policy accomplishments made during his first term.

The Western Journal described the Abraham Accords as “a historic peace effort under which Israel and the UAE agreed to normalize relations.”

On Tuesday, Yitz Friedman, on staff with the Washington-based American Accountability Foundation, thanked the former President, saying, the Abraham Accord agreement likely saved his life.

Friedman’s announcement coincided with a U.S. report that 22 American civilians have been killed in Israel since Hamas attacked on Saturday morning.

Friedman was on assignment in southern Israel when Hamas launched their surprise attack. An Israeli group reported the death toll has topped 1200, with up to 200 missing (approximately 70 are confirmed kidnapped) and 2300 injured.

Friedman and his wife escaped unharmed, largely because they were able to travel to a safe country via the Abraham Accord.

Friedman reported that fierce rocket activity caused the cancellation of most flights out of the country. The Times of Israel reported the Tel Aviv airport and runway were damaged by rockets fired from the Gaza Strip.

“We [weren’t] sure what to do,” Friedman recounted. “Luckily, one [of] the few airlines still running flights is Emirates. My wife and I just flew from Tel Aviv – passing three or four armed military checkpoints to get to the airport – and are now safe in Dubai waiting for our connecting flight to the US.”

Friedman, an American citizen, explained how without Trump’s work in establishing the Abraham Accords, his flight to the United Arab Emirates would not have been possible.

The Western Journal reported it was “the Trump administration [that] brokered the peace deal between Israel and the two Arab nations.”

The Washington-based American Accountability Foundation staffer said:

“If not for the Trump-Abraham Accords, this would be unthinkable. There would [have been] no flights from Israel to the UA. To be able to fly to a friendly Arab country when even American flights won’t dare, at a time of war, is miraculous.”

Friedman added: I would like to thank President Trump. After days of fear and anxiety in Israel, I am finally on my way home to the US. Almost every airline canceled all flights, including our flight home,” Friedman posted on X on Tuesday.
