I don’t know the exact date that Eisenhower learned about the death camps. Spring of 1945, I suppose. But after he was informed, one of the first orders he gave (maybe the very first) was to get photographs and films of the survivors and (where possible) the dead bodies. He seemed to know, just intuitively, that people would scoff at the reports of what had happened, and that the passage of time would make it more difficult to prove what had really happened there. So he wanted to document the reality as much as possible while there was still time.
And of course even with all the proof there are still people who deny it or minimize it or try to talk around it.
