35 WKU (2-0) 4-2
28 La. Tech (2-1) 3-4
(1) Western came out strong against (5)Tech and then seemed to lose focus. None-the-less, the Toppers picked up a nice road win against a mediocre Bulldog team. It’s always nice to win an away game. On the other hand, La. Tech some grit and heart to fight back and make it a game. Clearly they are an upper half team for CUSA. In my opinion WKU was the top dog in the conference this week and the Dogs come in at 5th best overall performance.

45 Jax St. (3-0) 5-1
30 MTSU (0-2) 1-5
(2) Jax St. looked like they were gonna lay an egg through one half of this game and I didn’t know roosters could do that. But football games have a second half and boy oh boy did the Gamecocks take control of the second half. They flexed their muscle and got it done winning comfortably. (7) The Blue Raiders used up all their bullets in the first half apparantly. But I’ll give them credit for coming out of the gate fast and building a nice lead. Jax St. gets the runner up spot for most impressive team this week. MTSU gets thw nod as not the worst showing this week at #7.

17 FIU (0-3) 3-3
34 NMSU (1-1) 3-3
(3) The Aggies had a very strong 4th quarter to take control of this game and send a staggering (8) Panthers team home with their second loss in a row. It was kinda clise and vanilla game until the last quarter. But the Aggies did beat a team with a winning record… then, so that puts them at 3rd in the passing the eye test pecking order this week. FIU comes in at 8, and to be quite honest, I don’t know why I have them behind the MTSU meltdown from this week.

21 Liberty (3-0) 5-0
16 SHSU (0-2) 0-5
(4) The Liberty Flames should have been very aware that the (6) Bearkats winless record was not really indicative of how the team has played. And, truth be told, I don’t think the Flames took Sammy for granted. Liberty had enforced their will on the Bearkats by halftime, but Sammy showed grit and determination in the second half shutting down the Flames and nearly completing the comeback, falling just a few yards short. Even with the win and perfect record the Flames are only gonna get the 4th best effort for the week. Sammy could easily be the 5th best effort of the week, but I’m putting them 6th since they are still winless.

27 Tenn St. 3-2
20 Kenn St. 1-5
(10) The KSU Ows are horrible. I know the plan and excuses but sheesh. Therefore I am ranking them below a team that didn’t even play this week in UTEP. Whatever UTEP was doing, practicing, playing video games, watching TV, I’m sure they were doing it better than Kennesaw playing football. Therefore the Miners had the 9th best performance this week and the Ows were the 10th and worst performance of the week.
1. Jax State-Big comeback on the road
2. WKU-Nice win, but nearly blew it
3. NMSU-Nice win
4. Liberty-Struggled against winless team
5. Sam Houston-Keep getting close to a win
6. LaTech-Almost pulled the upset.
7. FIU-Looked good earlier in the season. Not so much now.
8. MTSU-Fire Stockstill!!! (Maybe this will help).

I'm pretty sure UTEP lost to Bachelor in Paradise last week, so I'd be fine ranking them 10th.

Yeah, I think you're right. On top of UTEP's coaching issues, they are down to the 4th string QB, missing the top receiver and several others injured. Coaching is the biggest issue though. Just put UTEP at 12th just in case CUSA adds a couple of schools in the next few years.
