10 MTSU (0-1) 1-4
31 WKU (1-0) 3-2
1. Easily the most solid and steady team of the week. The Toppers took care of business and maintained their recent control of this rivalry. I am not near ready to say WKU has turned a corner, but they did make strides this week. Well done Hilltoppers! 5. MTSU gets the nod for 5th best showing this week simply for playing a rivalry game, on the road, against a tough team.

1OT
35 Jax St (2-0) 4-1
28 SHSU (0-1) 0-4
2. The Gamecocks earn the #2 spot this week because they showed grit and tenacity in coming back from a large deficit to earn a road victory against a very hungry team. Jax St. is showing they will not be a pushover in their first FBS season. Rich Rod has them ready for success and they are performing like winners. 4. The Bearkats earn the #4 spot for putting points on the board and building such an early lead.

24 La. Tech (2-0) 3-3
10 UTEP (0-2) 1-5
3. I saw bits and pieces of this game and have read comments from the game. Seemed like sloppy bad undisciplined football on both sides. Buth Tech did go on the road and finally got a win. They deserve credit. 6. I am putting UTEP at #6 because there is no way I’ll put them below KSU. All pun intended, the Miners have dug themselves into a hole I don’t think they can get out of.

10 Kennesaw St. 1-4
13 Charleston So. 2-3
7. What can we say? The Owls are just going through the motions of playing. Only scoring 10 points against Chuck South? I want to give them a rating of #10, behind even the teams that didn’t play this week. I hate to be so harsh on the Owls, because I really pull for them, but at some point team and school pride has got to step in and put an end to this losing.
Kennesaw is too high.
1. WKU
2. Jax State
3. LaTech
4. Sam Houston
5. MTSU
6. UTEP
7. Kennesaw
I actually put Sam Houston above La. Tech. There was nothing at all impressive about either team in the UTEP/La. Tech game. One of the worst games I have ever watched. Penalties, turnovers, bad QB play, bad play design.....Sam Houston showed a lot of grit vs. Jax. State and had a 99% chance of winning at one point.
I've never watched college ball and felt more like I was watching a middle school game than last night. We have our guard and tackle switching sides of the line based on the play and we can't get a clean snap.

I certainly didn’t go into this game expecting GOOD QB play. Tons of penalties though. And terrible play design/play calling.
