After a brutal schedule to start the season and coming off a heartbreaking OT loss to Jax State in their CUSA opener, the Sam Houston Bearkats travel to Virginia to face the undefeated Liberty Flames at Williams Stadium.

Bold thinking we’ll pull the upset. We’re completely demoralized currently with several major injuries at receiver and RB. Defense has looked awful the last 2 weeks as well. I think we’re way out matched in this one. I expect Liberty to blow us out. We’ll have to try and nab a win the following week.
Kaidon Salter hasn't faced a defense this good yet. Hopefully he avoid turnovers, because that is certainly how Sam Houston could win this, especially if given short fields.
While incredibly unlikely, as we have too much going against us, I am very much here for the story line of 0-4 beating 4-0.

Flip those scores and it's a pretty good prediction. We haven't scored less than 30 points all year while they haven't scored more than 30 and we should be healthier coming off of a bye week.

You also haven't played a defense as good as ours (as long as they show up like game 1 and 2...I expect more of a 21-10 or 21-17 Liberty.
For our SHSU friends, Liberty’s tv crew will do a pregame program called Flames Central Game Day beginning one hour before kick off. Interviews with coaches, CUSA insiders etc. Usually a live interview with a player during warmups. Program can be found on YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook live under name Flames Central Game Day.
Looks like all of the current MLB wildcard series will be wrapped up tonight. So no MLB competition during this game.
Anybody wanna bet on the attendance for the game tonight?

I bet there will be 15-16K actual butts in seats but it will be announced between 18-20K in attendance.

Not sure of the overall attendance but was glad to see the Lynchburg Regional Commerce people do a commercial promoting the game. Hoping and thinking the student section will fill out. That’s what’s seen on tv.

Sam Houston was able to get around 11k butts in seat last week with 14.5k announced so I would think Liberty could be 16k+ in actual attendance. Announced I can see being anywhere from 20-22k. You guys know a whole lot more about your alma mater though. The first midweek game was surprisingly a success in Huntsville attendance wise.

I think you're right here. SHSU defense is tough and has been strong against both AF and BYU. I don't think we are looking at a blow out here by any means. With this game and our five day turnaround to go to JaxSt and play them on the road....I believe we are looking a challenging two weeks.

That’s a great result for you guys this early into FBS. Soon we’ll develop some conference rivalries that should help with attendance.

Liberty is doing a Midweek on the Mountain campaign with different commercials featuring the president, an assistant coach and chamber of commerce people. Linked is the one aimed at older alumni like me.

Just saw Chris Vannini will be a guest on tonight’s Liberty pre-game show. Talking CUSA stuff. Begins at 6:00 pm tonight.
No defense from Sam Houston but despite some boneheaded mistakes on the goal line it’s all tied up at 7-7.
Salter has to stay away from turnovers. That is how Sam Houston will win. So far Keeler has. Liberty's defense a bit off-balance.
Cooley and Lucas got injured tonight. Liberty is now without their #1, #2, and #3 RB's. This is very problematic.

That was a lot of weight coming down on Cooley. Hope he’s alright going forward.
