Well, the girlfriend has a dinner thing to go to this week, so we won't be watching our usual Thursday Night hockey game. Anyone want to have a gathering at the Jackson Hooters this Thursday night? We can reflect on the football season, the win over Nebraska, basketball, and the upcoming baseball season...plus look at tig ole biddies.

Lemme know.

Cheers!

WR
Can't this Thursday, I'm going to Miami for the Orange Bowl to see the Trojans kick some Hawkeye butt!!!!

I can do it next week if you decide to do it then, but if not, I totally understand!! If you have it this week, drink one for me.

You suck for that, I just hope you know. 03-wink

That's cool. I'll see about next week, although if there is a night other than Thursday that you can do it, that may be better for me. Let me know and we'll set it up.

Cheers!

Yep, got lucky and scored a ticket from my USC buddies that are going. Should be a lotta fun. Trouble is trying to get there. Everybody and their brother are flying lately and it's hard to get a seat, but I'll find one.

As far as TNH Club, Monday nights are usually good for me, as well as Thursdays(usually), and Fridays. But I can work around something if need be.
Monday could work. If you're up for it next Monday, let's do it then. I'll see who else might want to tag along.

Cheers!

WR
Monday sounds good to me. Lemme know if you wanna meet then!! 04-cheers
Let's shoot for 8p next Monday...usual time. Then, if anything changes, we can just let each other know as always.

Cheers!

WR
10Man, I can't believe you are pulling for the "rubbers" over the hawkeyes. 03-lol I'm going to the game with Tom Arnold, so maybe I'll see you there! 03-wink

Not really, but I would enjoy going to a game with him. I love his sense of humor and I can see why he and Roseanne would both love and hate each other.

Congrats on winning a ticket. Hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip. Think about all your friends back in Mississippi while you are down there.
Well, Still, I'm kind of a closet Trojan fan anyway, second to the Rebs of course. It's a long story, but a friend of mine that I worked with in Nashville asked me back in '98 if I wanted to go to a USC-UCLA game at the Rose Bowl. I told him I would have to think about it for about a half-second and then agreed. I had heard great things about that rivalry and wanted to see it firsthand. It was a blast, so I went back again with him and his party in '00 at the Rose Bowl again. He always has extra tix, because he buys so many of them before the year and then usually has more tix than people.
Well, he knew I wanted to go to a game at the Coliseum, and this year he called and asked if I wanted to go to the Auburn game at the start of the year, since it was an SEC game and at the Coliseum. Off I went and again had a blast. So, when I heard that USC was going to Miami, it was on again. I've kind of grown to dig the Trojans.

He is a HUGE football fan, just like me, so he and I have gathered up parties of people before to go to big games all over the country that we fly to, not just USC games. (Fiesta Bowl '99 UT-FSU....'99 Super Bowl TN-STL, several other Titans away games) just to name a few. He is as addicted to football as I am, so it was kind of cool.

This Miami trip might be our last big hoorah for quite some time, though, for two reasons. First and foremost, my boy will most likely be involved in several sports next year(baseball, soccer, etc) so that will obviously be my top priority from here on out. Hell, my run of not missing any Ole Miss games for the last several years may be in jeopardy next year, too, but I don't care. I've seen enough Ole Miss games in the last 31 years to last me a lifetime, and it's time to start preparing this little one to be the next great Rebel QB. I'll make some Rebel games, hopefully, but only if he has nothing going on that day.
And secondly, my buddy of which I speak, has recently moved to Phoenix, gotten married a couple of weeks ago, and is about to start a family. So, I'm sure his addiction will have to be subsided, too, in the very near future.

But, it was definitely fun while it lasted, and we are gonna blow it out one more time in Miami......and I will definitely think of my Rebel buddies here on this board while I'm in sunny Florida!!! 03-cool

Well, shoot... I was going say, if you're driving, you better stop by and see me :D - well, at least you can wave if you pass over the western side of Florida
As full as these flights are, MsNole, I might be better off driving, but I will do whatever it takes from driving on I-75. 03-lol

We're actually not going to Miami until Thursday, the day of the game. We're spending a day and a half in Orlando first. Not for fun, just for budgeting reasons. Miami is really hiking it up for this game, not that it wasn't expensive enough without the Orange Bowl. But, in order to save money and be relatively close to Miami, we're staying there first. Then we will stay in Miami after the game.

But, I'll wave at you, nonetheless, MsNole. Good luck on Wednesday!!

I-75 is certainly terrible... I drove up to Tampa on Sunday to go to Busch Gardens with my older sister. I actually had to blow my horn at this idiot who was driving in the left-hand lane going 70 mph ... I don't think any of our interstates are safe to drive on; I know I-4 is crazy as is I-95 over on the east coast. But is sure beats walking though 03-lol

Hope you have a safe trip and a GREAT time at the game. :D

Happy New Year 2003 10MAN!!!

Go Seminoles - Neuter 'em Dawgs!!! 04-cheers
You too, MsNole. Busch Gardens rocks, I really need to take my boy there soon. I went there when I was 12 and had a blast.

Your post reminds me of something that happened last night here in Jtown. I was going to get my kid yesterday eve from school, just listening to the radio going down hwy80 in Pearl going towards Brandon just before you get to Wal Mart. I saw this car, from the other side of the road, pull out and start going in the direction I was going, except he was on the other side of the road. There is a fairly big grassy median in between the two directions with places to turn every 100 yards or so, so I figured at first that he/she was just trying to race in the other direction to get to one of those turn-ins. Not the case, cars were coming right at him and he just kept going until they got right up on him and he finally swerved into the median, sitting there in shock not moving. Cars were honking and flashing their lights at him/her. I don't know if it was an eldery person that just couldn't see that well at night, or someone that needed some medication, or someone that had been drinking their "medication" all day. Nobody got hurt, thank goodness, but it was very close.
Hey 10MAN, we still on for tonight for Hooters? 8pm...all the beer we can drink, food we can eat, and tig ole biddies we can look at?

WR
Check your email. I emailed you back earlier today. Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary, and I couldn't get tomorrow off so we were gonna plan to celebrate it tonight, but now she is stuck at work late and it's just me and my son tonight alone. Don't think he's quite ready for the Hooter's atmo just yet at 4yrs old. Don't worry, he will be soon, though.LOL

Man, I totally wasn't thinking when I committed to HNC for this Monday. My head was in the clouds last week, thinking of my Miami trip. I sure do apologize for my dumbassitude, but I will certainly make myself available for next Monday if you still want to try it!!!

I'm a dumb***....I'm a dumb***....I'm a dumb***....I'm a dumb*** :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

I will keep going to 500 if you'd like. Bro, I apologize!
You dumb***!!! 03-lol

No prob man. Guess I'll have to light the fire and cuddle up on the couch with my cutie tonight. Trust me...this is quite alright. :)

Anyway man, we can do it next Monday if you're game for that. Happy Anniversary to y'all!

04-cheers

WR
Sounds good! I appreciate your understanding. Having dumb*** friends can be a challenge sometimes. Believe me I know. Believe it or not, a lot of my friends are even bigger dumbasses than me. Can you imagine that?

Well, I didn't think you'd buy that, but it was worth a shot anyway.

By the way, sounds like you're gonna have more fun tonight anyway. Bro, I like ya and all, but I had NO intentions of cuddling with you...

Hey 10,

How was your Orange bowl trip? That was some win by USC. How was it to go to a real bowl? Only major, or old-line bowls I ever got to were the 70 Gator, OM vs Aub, and the 71 Peach, OM vs Ga Tech, while in school. Mix in 2 Indys and that's my bowl exposure.

Sure wish I was still in J-town so I could raise hell with you all at Hooters.

btw, I met Jason Harrison yesterday - he was flying out with his aunt (SW employee) - she sent him over to meet me, shook hands, etc, and he seemed a really decent young man. He's trying to get a look from various pro and semipro teams... Athletes In Action played him for a few games in the fall, if I understood it correctly. Nice guy, and he made me proud that he played for us.

Oh, the atmosphere was awesome, the stadium was awesome(and VERY loud), the Iowa fans were awesome and the USC fans(as usual). It was a great time. We got there in plenty of time, too, to take in all the festivities, which were awesome. Did I mention it was awesome? Yeah, we had a great time, thanks for asking LR. We also hit a couple of cool sports bars in Orlando, and stayed an extra day just to cruise around Miami, much to all of our wives' chagrin. They wanted us home, but we were having too much fun. We hit South Beach, where Madonna has a house and Versace once lived....very cool and the women were un Gawdly beautiful. We had lunch there and looked like freaks compared to all the models and such that live there. Unreal!!! I felt like I was in a totally different country, with all of the ethnicities and all. It is a huge international city. It was also very nice to get into some warm weather again. It reached 80 one day we were there, but was only like 77 for the game. Brutal, I know!!! 03-lol

You mentioned the Gator Bowl. That's one I would like to hit, but haven't had the fortune yet. The only "major" bowls I've been to was the Fiesta Bowl in Tempe, AZ(the first ever National Champ game) between Tennessee and Florida St a few years back, but the wrong team won. That was cool, though. Now, the Orange Bowl between USC-Iowa. But, nothing and I mean nothing can top Super Bowl XXXIV in Atlanta between my Titans and the Rams, which we won tickets to, was unbelievable, except for the outcome. Once in a lifetime opportunity, I know, and we took full advantage of it.
The other bowls I've been to were a couple of Indy Bowls...'98 OM-TxTech, and this year with Nebraska. I missed that Oklahoma one, though. :bang: Several Liberty's, some with OM and some were other teams. Ole Miss-WVa Music City Bowl :saber: , and been to the Rose Bowl twice, but neither were bowl games, just two matchups between USC-UCLA. Other than that, not much.

Wish you were here in Jtown, too, and that is awesome about JHarrison. Surely someone will pick him up, if anything, for his heart and passion on the floor.

Oh yeah man...family comes first...even before tig ole biddies. 03-wink

I'm definitely game for it next week. As for tonight, I'll probably be just fine. 03-wink

Yeah, I really had no intention of cuddling with you either bro...no offense. You're a good guy and all, but this cute little blonde with the great body and sexy voice (which you've heard and can agree with me on) is just plain better looking. 03-razz

Have a great night dude. 04-cheers
