GATA

Time to see if Davis Brin has the stuff.

Time to see if our defense has improved at all.

This game should tell us a lot.
Georgia Southern will be a top team in the East this year. Watch out for our defense.
I don’t know if Southern is good or citadel is as bad as their coach said they were.
One things for sure…our defense gained a lot of speed
Thoughts:

Have got to clean up the penalties and that's doable.
Entire game felt like a scrimmage with every drive scripted -- and that isn't a bad thing
Defense gave up a few big runs but feels much better than last year
Brin underthrew quite a few balls but didn't have a terrible game
Jalen White is going to have a monster year
Hard to have many complaints about a shutout. GATA against UAB next week
Penalties have to get cleaned up. Brin looks solid and RB/WR group is fantastic. OL is good but still needs some work. D appears greatly improved.

Teams always make the biggest jump between games one and two. Interested to see how we do at home versus UAB

I'm all for making our "biggest jump" if the starting point is a 34-0 snoozefest... And I say snoozefest with all the best connotations. There are plenty of things GS needs to improve on, but you can do a lot worse than dominating a first half and then kind of going through the motions once you know the opponent can't threaten you.
