Knowing that the B1G, SEC, XII, and now ACC have a solid 16 - 18 members each and will continue to eat one another, can Gloria consolidate around having a solid #5 option for FOX, CBS, NBC, ESPN to bid on that has content for Thursdays, Fridays, and Sunday nights in EST, CST, MT, and PST?

I love the idea of Gloria going on the offensive and adding Oregon State and Washington State. Then, add an Eastern Flank of the former American Conference Teams:

- (1) Temple, East Carolina, USF, Memphis, Tulane, Rice
- (2) Army, Navy, Air Force, Wyoming, Colorado State, Tulsa
- (3) Oregon State, Washington State, Boise State, Utah State, New Mexico, UTSA
- (4) SDSU, San Jose St., Fresno St., Nevada, UNLV, Hawai'i

Then scheduling becomes five games in your POD, two games against your paired Pod (1 and 2; 3 and 4); and one game each against the remaining pods.

If you are Memphis, you play:

- Temple
- East Carolina
- USF
- Tulane
- Rice
- Year 1: Army/Year 2: Air Force/Year 3: Colorado St.
- Year 1: Navy/Year 2: Wyoming/Year 3: Tulsa
- Year 1: Oregon St./Year 2: Washington St./Year 3: Boise St./Year 4: Utah State/Year 5: New Mexico/Year 6: UTSA
- Year 1: SDSU/Year 2: SDSU/Year 3: Fresno St./Year 4: Nevada/Year 5: UNLV/Year 6: Hawai'i

This gives pretty good content for fillers on Thursdays, Fridays, and late night games. It also gives you a host of teams in each of the four time zones.

For non-revenue sports, you could cut down on travel this way too by playing within pods to cut down on travel. Example of a 20 game UofM basketball schedule:

- Temple (H&A)
- East Carolina (H&A)
- USF (H&A)
- Tulane (H&A)
- Rice (H&A)
- Army
- Navy
- Air Force
- Wyoming
- Colorado St.
- Tulsa
- From Pod #3
- From Pod #3
- From Pod #4
- From Pod #4
The problem is the AAC has more media income than the MWC and the schools don't have to fly west.

The CUSA 6 however have a smaller cut of media income (2-3.5 mil) and are more vulnerable for poaching.

UNT, UTSA and Rice are all part of that CUSA 6.

I'm not sure if any of them would flip however. Rice has the private school connection in the AAC. UNT and UTSA have tried going west before.
No.
