Rockets have been drawing a game average between 78-81% of the GB's capacity.
To me, not meeting expectations on the Field has been the main reason for the stagnation in attendance. Even on the pundit shows there is often a reluctance to give UT a solid endorsement because of a history of not playing up to expectation. Let's face it, there is a core fanbase that will turnout, beyond that NW Ohio has alot bandwagon fans. You only have to look at the Women's NiT Championship to see how the crowds grew as the winning continued. Upgrades and improved fan experiences are the icing on the cake. The cake is winning/doing some really special on the Field. It starts at Illinois. Go Rrrockets!!!
Dave White Chevrolet needs to just do everyone a favor and write a better jingle. That would really boost game day experience

From a marketing standpoint, its a very good jingle - you don't forget who it is for or where they are located. Just not what I want to hear during the game, at halftime, or any other time inside the stadium. Tough to get it out of your head after you hear it 3-4 times in a row as students try to sing it for prizes.
Where is the new student tailgate lot?
Next to GB and Greek village?

I agree of the impact of the not meeting expectation is one factor, but with 2 MACC last 6 seasons, 13 straight winning seasons (including 8 seasons with 8+ wins) I am not so sure its more a factor than overall decline in NCAA CFB attendance nation wide (for various reasons), decline in # of UT students/staff, and what has become declining game day experience for many fans (and good for AD to recognize that and attempt to address)... just makes one wonder what GB attendance would or could look like if Rockets football went on an extended period of poor teams/losing seasons..hopefully we don't get to experience that any time soon.

After the smashing success of the Barstool Sports Gameday show hosted on campus for the BG game, it definitely makes sense to relocate there. That area needs some life for game days.

Student attendance as it relates to enrollment could also be a factor. The SE corner of the stadium used to be packed and now they seem to fill the endzone and the SE corner is 50% empty.
There have been so many games in the past few years that the guys just did not look like they were ready to play. They looked slow and confused. At least they did to me. But if they come playing like they did in the CCG bowl game we could have a very special year. We certainly have the talent.

Wait? Carter Hall is gone? What is there now?

I haven't been to campus in about 15 years.
