Washington, yes. Oregon, yes. Stanford, yes. Cal, maybe if ND says no again.
Cal and Stanford makes a lot of sense, not sure why they were never brought up. I get this is talkin football, but the benefit of Cal and Stanford has to have the BIG presidents excited. Nobody cares if they are good at football, they do EVERYTHING else better than anyone in the country with D1 sports. those 4 schools give you everything you could ask for from football to academics.

I still think the BIG is looking ACC and East though.
There are some Presidents that are saying they would vote no to add anymore schools right now. They can talk all they want, but they will not have the votes to let anybody else in. The Big 10 would want to force Notre Dame's hands to join first.
I remember McMurphy said a few months ago that the B1G didn’t want to appear to kill the pac-12, but it looks like the Big 12 might have done that work.
So they really were just waiting for someone else (the Big 12) to strike first in regards to poaching teams from the PAC.
The Big Ten is merely waiting for the Arizona schools and Utah to commit to the Big 12, then they will invite Oregon and Washington with potentially Stanford and Cal, too.

The Big Ten could offer the four half shares for the term of the current contract.
Everything starts to break when Arizona announces they're departure to the BigXII. The minute the PAC loses the Wildcats the B1G will no longer worry about looking predatory and things will start to move fast...
Big10 needs a robust western division. You can't just leave USC/UCLA on an island like that, history have shown those programs will suffer emmensly without some respite from the travel. Losing 2-3 hours everytime you plan an away game is going to be brutal.
The “media insiders” are not neutral parties.

They are currently trying to push certain schools into favorable contracts under their control and away from contracts outside their control.

It is in the best interest of FOX to engage in a little brinksmanship to destabilize the PAC with feigned interest in B1G expansion so they can ultimately get the same schools under the B12 contract.
has the B1G resolved the kinks and finalized their media contract?
without a prorata clause, are they looking at Amazon for a 4th window deal to finance western expansion?
Good timing- BYU, Houston, UCF, Cincy

Bad timing- Oregon State, Washington State.

Correct. The questions now are: Does the Big Ten take Stanford and Cal too? Does the Big 12 take ASU and Utah? What happens to OSU and WSU?

The answers IMO: No. Yes. Some combination of MWC schools with OSU/WSU.
Stanford and California make too much sense to not bring along as well. The B1G, in any/all sports, could easily make a Pacific Division with all of the PAC schools (USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Stanford and California) making travel easier and scheduling for Olympic sports easier as well. There's no set maximum for future members either, so the league could then look to add from the ACC now or in a few years to grow up-to or beyond 24.

Everything here is following the NFL model. Multiple networks for maximum exposure (FOX, NBC, CBS, FS1, B1GN, etc.), national markets, elite academic/athletic brands. IMO, FSU and Miami will be prioritized for the B1G (to get duplicate access to Florida), with potential for Clemson, UNC, Virginia or Georgia Tech to come along too. And those are all moves that would come before getting Notre Dame (as a non-football member).

I think the B1G is about to pull some major moves in the coming weeks/months/years ahead. Delaney would be proud.

I’m afraid Oregon State and Washington State fans are going to have to go through what Cincinnati/Connecticut/South Florida fans went through ten years ago. I feel for them. It sucks.
The whole B1G doesn't want to appear predatory is the biggest joke in college football right now aside from Kliavkoff. They literally started the PAC's entire demise despite being in an "alliance". Laughable.

I don't believe for a second that the B1G cares about PR. The B1G will add Oregon and Washington if it will be profitable to do so regardless of what the remaining 4C do.

It's up to the networks at this point regarding Oregon's and Washington's future.

It could be that ASU and Utah are hoping to make the UL like push (recall UL/Mitch McConnel snakery to the Big 12 in 2010 as the 10th team at the time before they settled on WVU).

So Utah/ASU battle out Cal for that 20th spot. Neither wants to commit. But Zona should take this at this point. Not sure what the holdup is. Has to happen this week, otherwise GK may be working a minor miracle behind the scenes (or it's just sentimental presidents that don't really give two ****s about athletics).
