I think he has a point. The games have not been as nationally impactful since and they are seldom good.

A little OT here, but the FSU-Miami rivalry kind of reminds me of a "Clean, Old
-Fashioned Hate" (UGA vs North Avenue Trade...er.. GT). Used to be nationally relevant, now only relevant for state bragging rights, IMO.
Oooof, gonna have to hijack this one for a moment.

One of this guy's other "Worst game ever" videos was the 2006 ACC championship between Wake Forest and Georgia Tech. The one that ended 9-6 in favor of the Demon Deacons. The last game of Reggie Ball.

I was at this game. I think GTS was too.

I remember not watching this game at all. Reggie Ball’s brother played LB at FSU.

I remember watching this game live. I wasn't impressed with either.

I do recall the win streaks they both tore off after this, so I remember just thinking it was the first game and both weren't ready for it. I also remember GT pulling the massive upset of Miami later that year in a game we had no business being in. FSU winning the conference that year is typical ACC for sure.

In the ACCCG that year, I remember VT being favored by 17 and taking VT to cover mostly based on what I saw in the Miami/FSU game. Taking FSU to win should have paid pretty good.
