Utah Valley’s Everlyn Kemboi brought home the Wolverines first ever individual national championship in track. The UVU junior was National Champion in the 10,000 meters.
Greta Karinauskite of California Baptist University finished as NCAA runner up in the 3,000 steeplechase final. 8 points for CBU.
Kemboi couldn’t get the sweep as she finished 2nd in the 5,000.

Utah Valley women finish 12th in the team standings. UVU was behind 1 Big 12 team, one PAC 12, 1 Big 10, and 7 SEC schools. The only non major conference team ahead of UVU was Harvard in 9th.

California Baptist women are 34th in their first season eligible for national championships.
Kemboi's 2022-23 season also included five WAC Championships—

2 each in indoor and outdoor track—

WAC Cross Country champion; and was NCAA Mountain Region Champion last fall.

Utah Valley's women's cross country and women's outdoor track & field were both ranked in the Top 25 for the first time in program history

She also became the school's first All-American in cross country.

Kemboi is now a four-time All-American, with three coming in outdoor track and one in cross country.

The Junior is now returning to Kenya to train for a professional career and the Olympics, so she will no longer be competing at UVU.
WAC Champion Astley Davis set a 3rd school record this season as well as a new personal record when he became an All American in Triple Jump at the NCAA’s. SUU finished in the 68th position out of over 130 teams represented at the national meet.

California Baptist women finished 35th out of 124 teams represented at nationals in their very first season eligible for national championships.

Greta Karinauskaite's time of 9:30.85 is the fourth-fastest time ever at Nationals and earned her an NCAA Runner Up. She is California Baptist’s first NCAA D1 All-American.

This follows CBU winning both men’s and women’s WAC Championships in Cross Country and the Women ranking 29th nationally.
Very impressive results but WAC teams. Congrats to all.
