Now everyone can be the "bag man".

With legalized sports betting in many states the skies the limit for all sorts of unanticipated problems. What could possibly go wrong????

Yep...this is going to be a nightmare of epic proportions if it isn't swatted down by the NCAA immediately.

Seems like Courts have restricted ability of NCAA to address aspects of student athlete compensation (from sources outside colleges control)
So, it seems like someone could give unlimited amounts of money to an athlete for a digital signature. There seems to be no way to evaluate the worth of that signature.
Trying to figure out where this is going to end up over the next 10 years. I can't find anything that would work that isn't a bit preposterous - but that might be what happents. Not that the whole concept of the NIL hasn't become preposterous for a good majority of the schools classified as DI in most (or all) sports. I just don't think the NCAA will be the only governing power in college sports - and that would create a huge rift between the large schools with lots of money lying around to be scooped up - and the so-called mid-majors and DII schools. I don't see the NCAA being able to keep all the schools under one governing body.

There has been talk of the P5 schools splitting off from the NCAA and governing themselves.

I remember hearing that a few years ago
Story is a few weeks old about NIL, but interesting. https://theathletic.com/4566889/2023/06/...ess-bills/
