Yes. Also, Louis Frye and Ty Myles to Huskie, Rashon Myles back to LB
I see we got a couple of kids in from Iowa Western CC. Iowa Western is a JUCO power year in and year out. In a time when many JUCO's were dropping the sport, IWCC added the sport 15 years and won a national title 4 years after its inception.

Notable weight changes from 2022:

DT - Omalley up 12 lbs to 288. I think this is great.
DT - Gill-howard up 45 LBS!! to 285. Man did some eating over the winter.
DE - Williams up 15 lbs to 261. Guess he plans to bull rush?
DE - Ivan Davis down 8 lbs to 232. 8 in the wrong direction.
DE - Crowell up 15 lbs to 260. Williams, Crowell, Thomas, Oppong - DE has mad size...but we need athletes.
LB - Joey Rattin up 16 lbs to 217. Not sure why since he's at Huskie and needs coverage skills.
OL - Pitcel down 16 lbs
OL - Big Z down 14 lbs
OL - Potter down 8 lbs - more quickness or new scheme?
OL - Curry down 9 lbs
QB - Lombardi down 6 lbs. Good for the knee.
QB - Hampton up 12 lbs. Good for the arm.
WRs - All of them are up from anywhere btw 0-9 lbs. Notable - Rudolph & Rutkiewicz both up 5 lbs. Maybe help a little with their work load

I like Frye there. Probably close to a true Huskie athlete.
I mentioned it in another thread. One of our LB transfers, Keshon Artis, appears to have had surgery. Hope it's not season ending.

Lynch didn't look good at QB in the spring scrimmage. So they must have talked to him about moving to RB.
Great post 81, Thanks! ...... Talk about turning over your roster, 54 NEW FACES....54! Staff is absolutely pi**ed at the lack of production out of the TEs and Wrs and have added 8 new TEs and 9 new WRs. ZWe now have 13 TEs on roster. .......I like the weight changes especailly at OLine a little more quickness. Dline will be awesome this year. Gumbs? Hope it works out at DE, he is an athlete and NATURALLY a strong man. We lost 2 off the roster in Lomax and Bostad and want to wish them the best and if they want to continue play I hope they find the right place.
Does anybody have Jersey Number Changes?
I assume Brown missing is an oversight.

Yeah. He’s #1 on the link to 2023 roster.

Phew…02-13-banana
Looking at that list of defense it’s possible that 5 new starters are going to have come from the portal.

I see Gilbert- Dabney - and pick a linebacker are going to start for sure. Outside chance of Armegatcher & another backer starting.

Losing Acevedo hurt. I think it shows Hammock doesn't recruit the linebacking position well. Nick Ratting was a walk on.

There are a number of positions where the high school kids didn’t work out.

Qb, wr,TE, LB, corner, safety, etc.

It’s not all on hammock. Injuries happened. I’m sure Lafayette would have been a very good player if he wasn’t hurt.

Alvarado transfer portal was a shock to me. Thought he was still on the team. Looked like he would have been competing for a starting spot. Looking at his twitter he’s getting an offer from Bryant University. So the question is……why did you want to transfer?

That is strange. Alvarado had several P5 offers coming out of high school.

Also strange I don't see him on this or any other transfer portal list:

https://247sports.com/Season/2023-Footba...nkey=24073

If he winds up at Bryant University I would call that yet another disappointed - the grass isn't always greener.

I wish they would cut way back with allowing transfers. I really don't like all the moving around and all that goes with it (although I would say that overall we have been helped more from the transfer portal than hurt).
I like what I'm seeing. Lynch moving to RB is the logical move. The kid can flat out run and he runs hard. I wouldn't mind seeing him in the mix for some short yardage/goaline carries ala Rat Dog.

I like the Gumbs move to DE. He's large and athletic and we have a ton of other TEs. Our D line is pretty large this year which is a good sign.

No other real questions... it's time to get to work and get ready to beat Boston College.

Yes, I think it's a good thing to move Lynch to RB. It's a smart move to (hopefully) keep him on the roster. Face it, he IS a RB much more than a QB. I look forward to seeing how he handles the transition. It would be awesome to see him become a standout RB like his brother was at QB.

D-end is a spot that has some new faces and really needs a boost in play makers. Raishein Thomas is solid but 2 career sacks in 32 games just doesn't cut it. Really hoping Gumbs, Williams or Davis can provide pressure from the other side.

Lynch might be useful as a run/throw option at RB. Otherwise I just think Hammock brings in too much talent there for him to regularly contribute just running the ball.
