With the new scheduling model we all get to see some new teams more frequently now. What conference or non-conference away games are you planning to attend?

Me: FSU, UNC and GaTech
Probably none this year. The one I'd like to see is VT at FSU, but doubt I'll be able to go. Next year (2024) I might go to VT at Wake.

Mark if you make it to FSU...I have a VG parking lot I use when I go there. I'll share it with you.

Thanks for the offer, but if I go anywhere this year, it'll be wherever my wife wants to me to take her!

One of these years I want to make every road game. With every game being in reasonable driving distance this might be the year. So far we have planned to travel Atlanta, Indianapolis and Pittsburgh. Raleigh and Miami are still possibilities but we’ll decide on those later in the season.

Louisville to Atlanta: 420 miles / 6 1/4 Hours

Louisville to Indianapolis: 114 miles / 1 3/4 Hours

Louisville to Raleigh: 565 miles / 8 1/2 Hours

Louisville to Pittsburgh: 388 miles / 5 3/4 Hours
.
Louisville to Miami: 1082 miles / 16 Hours

I have actually driven all of these before to attend games, work or vacation. I made the Miami to Louisville drive back in January after a cruise. It took 18 hours since we had to stop at every Bucees along the way.

(If you’ve never been to Bucees it’s like Redneck World. 03-lmfao )

I probably stopped at that Buc-ees in November. My nephew had a travel ball tournament.

Definitely. Apparently my nephew plays a lot of tournaments between Jax and St.Augustine. I think travel ball starts up again in a few weeks.
So do any of you guys do away games? I'm a Yankee and making you guys look bad.

My wife and I usually do 1 or 2 away Clemson games each season. Will most likely only do 1 this year which looks like it will be the game at South Carolina.

Mark I will have to remember that. We’re going on a cruise in April out of Fort Lauderdale.

I don’t do away games, nobody to travel with and hard to find a bird sitter.

Mark,

You were the guy that got me into going to away games for a while. I havent been to an away game since about 3 years before the pandemic. Then my wife suffered a major stroke at age 51 the day after thanksgiving past. I thank our merciful God that she was able to get back about 90 to 95%. So with those health issues and the pandemic being further and further behind us, hopefully we can get back into the swing of things nd start going to away games again.

She is doing really well. You cant even tell that she had a stroke. I learned something about the human body's ability to repair itself that is simply amazing.. I hope in the next couple of years to meet up with you and some Ville fans either in your neck of the woods or up here in my neck of the woods.
Greg,
We are going up to Syracuse the next time Louisville visits. My son is living in Philly and we’ve made it a point to meet at a UofL road each season. Last year we met in Charlottesville for the UVa game. This year we’re meeting in Pittsburgh. Hopefully we can plan a trip to Upstate NY in the next year or two.

Sounds like a plan. You will enjoy the new Dome.
