Definitely this. All the hints add up.

Release coming shortly but long story short, the school of medicine just got something it very much needed, and it should help the region big time.

Granny was not a Clampett. Her daughter was Jed's deceased wife.
She wasn't really Jed's granny, she was his mother in law.
