That’s the closest possible regional for us this year. Even if we won out I don’t see us hosting this year. Only thing I don’t like there is the oral Roberts part… can we trade them out for someone easier like Southern Miss 03-lmfao 05-stirthepot

And therein lies the problem. It's always the closest regional. We always get sent there. Sick of getting stuck playing UT. Sick of their obnoxious condescension, and sick of Bobhorns.
TXST's path to an at-large bid at this point would be an interesting journey and could very much go in either direction of last 4 in or last 4 out.

TXST still has 4 quad IV games and 4 quad III games left on the schedule. That does not particularly help a team far beyond bubble seeding right now get comfortably inside the bubble.
However, TXST has 7 games against quad 1 left on the schedule all away and that probably does more than offset the quad 3s and 4s.
TXST has 6 previous games against GCU and ORU that are on the verge of becoming quad 3 teams.

Sunbelt can get 5 teams in a regional and this is how it would happen. ODU, Troy, USM and CCU all finish under an RPI of 40 and a GS, TXST or Louisiana wins the tournament. I guess we could get 6 in if ODU and either TXST/UL/GS moves into the top 40 and a long shot wins our tournament. 5 is really best case scenario with 6 a pipe dream.

AUSTIN REGIONAL
1. Texas (#13 national seed)
2. Texas A&M
3. Texas State
4. Oral Roberts

This would be a terrible draw of a regional. Last year was a terrible draw too for TXST. Stanford the #2 national seed was probably a little overrated as they didn't win a single game in Omaha but the regional #3 seed UCSB gave TXST fits and could have easily been hosting as a #16 overall seed.

In this scenario TXST would be paired with an underrated host (for once) UT, an underrated (for once) regional 2 seed A&M and an underrated 4 seed ORU.
How is Texas, whose RPI is 30, getting a Regional?

Somebody make it make sense.

Texas had a #17 rpi going into the weekend. However, 2 home losses to Oklahoma (19-19, now 21-19) is not conducive to staying near the top 16. West Virginia and TCU are the only "quality" games they have left (top 50, not 25). Texas has the highest rpi in the conference but is in 4th place in the conference standings behind West Virginia (#28), Kansas State (#82) and Oklahoma State (#30). They may not be out of the picture to host, but their resume right now is not one of the top 16 teams in the country.
This is when I really miss the SBC the most. What a baseball league. I think eventually you guys will be getting in 5 & 6 bids every year.
That Conway regional would be sick! All three Carolinas battling with sell out crowds whooping it up and hollering loud in the humidity. We owe the Cockroaches payback for 2010 when we hosted them and they won with a walk-off home run to advance...

So, this is showing the current #1 RPI team as a #3 seed?

This is Southern Cal, not South Carolina.

That makes more sense, but that isn't how El Chanto read t.

That's Southern Cal. No idea why they would be in Conway though. That 2010 team could've given us our first Natty. They were so good. Of course that Gamecock team would go on to win the National Championship. We were so close...hurts thinking about it again.
I think when the dust settles, Southern Miss will get sent as a 2 seed to somewhere like Vandy, Tenn or Arkansas.
