Great field! Davidson, Clemson & Maryland. Same weekend as the Navy game, tho. Will be a tough decision.
That's a solid slate of teams. ACC, Big10, A10, and AAC.
Let's hope our scheduling continues that way in OOC games.
Should be an excellent event. Hoping we see at least 5-6 more games of this level in the non conference

Agreed. Can't sit on our laurels with this tournament and then play 2 D2 teams at home.

This is a good start to what is hopefully an overall vastly improved schedule.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on April 17th.

In terms of NET ranking purposes these definitely have potential to be Q1/Q2 due to it being at a neutral site. Also in league play I would think both Memphis, both FAU, and @Witchita games could all be Q1 alone. Not sure what happens with NT even though Hodge seems like the right hire
I expect Tulsa to be much improved — they are landing a bigtime transfer class. Probably a Q2 team at least.

Memphis is going to be ridiculously talented, but that should be a surprise.

The main thing on our schedule is just that we don’t schedule the true dogs just to have home games. Keep at at least 250 RPI kind of teams as the basement, and only do a couple of those.
I thought this would be a thanksgiving week tournament. It'll be tough opening up with challenging games with essentially a brand new roster.

Good.
Doesn’t matter. We need games like this. It should be one of our goals every year to be in contention for an at large bid to the tourney, and schedule accordingly. We haven’t done that in damn year a decade, or more.
Near*
It's also the best time to knock off a P6 school. Lots of "upsets" happen in November

When else could you experience a Blazer tailgate in Navy's parking lot?
I am shooting for the Navy game. Sucks its the same weekend. Hard to pass up the tailgate.

Hard to pass up Asheville for me, fun place to visit.

Yeah, I hate this tourney is the same weekend as the Navy game. I've already made plans to see family up in Arlington that weekend. But I would love to spend a weekend in Asheville, it's a hell of a town, especially if you like bars/breweries.
I would advise anyone to go to Annapolis. Walk around downtown and the naval academy itself. Beautiful area. But since I've been there I might opt for the basketball tournament. Either one will be a blast. Go Blazers!

Cool story, but it didn't happen:

APD: consecutive budget per City of Asheville Finance Department

Fiscal Year 2021-22: $29,264,378
Fiscal Year 2020-21: $29,286,305
Fiscal Year 2019-20: $29,646,505
Fiscal Year 2018-19: $29,044,627

Without the Fox hysterics, crime has risen in Asheville:

But attributing it to "defund the police" is just not true. The current mayor supports increased funding:

I intend to go to Asheville.

Funny, many across the country say the same thing about our city…. I always laugh as I’m cruising around downtown, top down in the convertible, visiting the endless breweries & great local restaurants, which is exactly what I’d do in Asheville.
