Has teams in the final 4 of both men's tournaments.

UAB, N. Texas St. and FAU.
in what sport?
Maybe Miami or Tampa will win the next bid for conference tourney if Memphis cheaps out on it again.

what f'n men tournaments are going on right now boo boo..
No way FAU keeps their coach / team now that he's made a FF.

If not this year then next he will say 'adios' and go get paid.

FAU will then likely return to reality.

Yep.. They will become the next George Mason or Butler.

Yep, it could be an alll (CUSA) future all AAC final.
I think CUSAAC fits the conference nicely. I think only Temple and one other remaining school are not alumni.
The issue is sustainability. North Texas and FAU will likely lose their coaches. It is difficult replacing any successful coach, but a strong infrastructure buys time and provides resources to broaden coaching options. FAU and North Texas both lack a strong infrastructure.

No doubt and we’d be looking for the next coach that’s going to leave.

Finding a successful (yet blemished) coach that will give us anywhere near the nine years Cal did seems highly unlikely. Along with us, lowly CUSA still had Marquette, Louisville, Cincinnati, DePaul, Houston and even St. Louis. All with storied basketball history. When he left, only Houston remained and that got us Pastner.

I’m not complaining about the “new American”, but it’s now full of up and comers, once weres or never weres. Most will likely lose a successful coach to the highest bidder. At least I think that’s what will happen.

Most of the coaches on the hot seat are mid-majors.

Less than a handful of power jobs are opening up.

Unless it is a power job any AAC coach would be looking at a sideward or even downward move.

The new AAC is still the G5 bell cow.

FAU's rocket ride is reminding me of the old Cleveland State BBall program in the 80's. FAU managed only 19 wins last year, but they've got 35 wins this year, so far? They've gotten awfully good, awfully fast.

This seems like the kind of thing which would trigger an NCAA investigation into a mid-major program such as FAU. Or maybe that's just old days thinking.
We won't know for awhile.

May could be the next great coach or it could be that he caught lightning in a bottle just this one time.

Either way he's going to get paid.

Where is Florida Gulf Coast and it's coach from the S16 a few years ago?

What has Butler done since Brad Stevens left?

I figured FAU can't sustain even being a regular NCAA tournament team.

Oh please, they are in the final four. As of now they would be odds on favorites to sustain it. Someone made a great hire in May. Is that someone still there? Be satisfied with now.

Per Matt Norlander:
Texas Tech: Are there two coaches still going in the NIT that will be on the move? Seems like it. North Texas' Grant McCasland is expected to be the guy at TTU, sources said, barring anything in the 11th hour that torpedos the deal after UNT is done playing. If for any reason McCasland wound up not being the guy, I can't help but wonder if the backup option isn't also still coaching in the NIT: UAB's Andy Kennedy.

If and/or when McCasland opts to make the intra-Texas move from Denton to Lubbock, North Texas has the easiest layup of any school this cycle: promoting assistant Ross Hodge has to be the move for new AD Jared Mosley.

you're talking about a composite of a bunch of polls. many of which only pay attention to P5 conferences.

Two new AAC in ESPN way too early top 25. Tulane and UTSA.

No MWC or former AAC teams listed
