The guys over at The Den are talking like he is already gone.

Exciting times at ASU. Shows the crapshoot of hiring an assistant. Balado's resume looked pretty darn good.

At least ASU had the stones to pull the plug....

There is no way that will happen. There would be a revolt among ASU fans. My nightmare is that next year "boosters" will pressure our AD to hire Anderson like they pressured our previous AD to hire Walker.

I believe we were a solid midmajor program for close to 30 years. It is sad where we are right now. Not sure we can get back to where we were, any time soon, but right now I would just like to be competitive in the OVC.

I posted this on the ASU board. So far unanimous agreement that this idea was insane. They apparently are not dumb enough to hire an ex-hog like us and UCA. I have to acknowledge my own stupidity. I was all for Sydney and amazingly still believed that Darrell might work out.

My level of belief is is pretty low right now. I can’t give up completely since I love the program, will continue to buy season tickets, and pull for our players.

Maybe Matt Painter would enjoy LR more than he will enjoy West Lafayette in the foreseeable future.

I guess he is a good coach, but losing to a 13, a 15, and now a 16 seed (who had to win a play-in game) 3 years in a row may make things in Lafayette rather uncomfortable. FDU finished second in their conference to Merrimack who was ineligible due to moving up from DII. Stupid rule. I'm sure Coach Painter would second that right now.

Like the six or so posters here carry a lot of weight! But given how many fans there are in the stands these days, maybe that’s a pretty good percentage! The administration of this program doesn’t care about what the fans think in any event!
