Just got curbstomped at home by UCF

I hope that is an omen.
But as far as our match up, there is no need to read too much into it. (imho)

FAU shoots a lot of threes and makes quite a number of them. Of all their FG attempts, 43.9% are from three and they hit 37.2% of them. By comparison, 28.8% of the Tigers FG attempts are from three and we hit 35.6% while holding opponents to 30.8%.

Mitigating FAU's three point conversion is the key to victory, IMO.

They seem to be a good team

They are very good. Don’t fall prey to the schedule thing. We get accused of the same thing by the SEC/P5 crowd. No need for us to be hypocrites. I’ll leave that to the Ned’s of the world

We need our guards to get the long rebounds and turn those into points.

They did not play UCF this year. Not sure what you are looking at.

Here are two out of conference games and their three losses.

Old Miss beat them 80-67
FAU beat Florida 76-74
UAB beat them 86-77
Middle Tennessee beat them 74-70

He is referring to UCF beating the snot out of UofF at UofF. And comparing that to FAU's beating UofF by 2.

Their best net wins are two close wins over UNT, and a close win and a big win over UAB.

If I had to guess, and thats all I can do, is that they are likely on a level similar to SMU. A game we should win 4 times out of 5 on a neutral court.

We will be the best team, by several orders of magnitude, they have played this year.

In the end, if they hit 40% from 3, it will be a close game. If they hit 30% from 3, it wont be nearly as close.

Its unfortunate that UCF lost by 2 to Miami, by 2 to Missouri, and lost in 2OT against UNC Ashville. They may have been in the dance if those 3 games went the other way. They are a really good team (probably have the best freshman in the nation) and simply screwed the pooch too many times.

I don't really put any weight on the NIT results. You can tell some of these named teams are mailing it in.

IMO, FAU’s team is not as talented as UCF’s. They are not as talented as we are. But we played like a deer in headlights at the end of the game and FAU didn’t.
