I don’t know much about basketball but I do feel our Ladies Rockets coach Cullop is doing a great job. I’d hate to lose her.

Don't put the cart before the horse, Cullop is still the UT coach
Cullop has said repeatedly that this team may be her favorite to coach ever. With Lockett and Wiard coming back for 5th years, and most of the rest too, next year could be another special year again. She seems very happy in Toledo. So, I guess I am not that worried about her being lured away at this point. And Michigan State's athletic department has been kind of a mess in recent years.

There are several other interesting jobs open already in the region though - Pitt, Minnesota, Xavier, Cinci to name a few, so it will be interesting to see who gets tapped for those. Fralick, Sallee and even Starkey would also maybe be names that might be considered. Sallee seems happy in Muncie but you never know. It may be a little early for Fralick, but if she gets a big offer? Starkey could be ready to move on, since he lost a big chunk of his team to graduation this year, again if there is a tantalizing offer. We will see.

I am more worried about Toledo holding on to their assistants. You've gotta think that all three of them could be tapped for assistant positions at bigger name schools with bigger salaries. Ivey could be ready to take a HC position at a lower level school. But again, maybe they want to stay to ride out Q and Soph's runs, so hopefully we have them for at least 1 more year. Fingers crossed.
Well crap. Being reported now that Cullop has interviewed for the job at Pitt, along with others. So much for my ramblings above.
Hopefully we can capitalize on things this year...I wouldn't be surprised if we have a lot of coaching turnover soon, resources are becoming a huge issue, and we have multiple coaches at career peaks as far as performance and ability to sell themselves to higher bidders for the "last, best paycheck". Having said all that...man would it hurt to lose Cullop...
BG stepped up with a coaching change, we could too. That always has to be the outlook. It's nicer when a coach goes out because of success than lack of. Pitt? Could be a fun place to live. I think towards the northern midwest more what I imagine for Coach C but what do I know. Maybe Coach C can be "mayor" (nod to Mayor of Kingstown, filmed there)
I think Tricia would take the Ohio State, and Purdue jobs. Any others would really have to move the needle with whatever her personal wants or needs are for a program.

I think we will draw near 5,000 next season with the team coming back. Depends on how deep we go this season and if she feels she has hit a ceiling. A mid major ceiling is probably the sweet 16.

I think the one big thing we're not looking at is the fact that she would instantly double her salary and probably quadruple her staff/department resources. At some point, that makes a big impact, especially when you're banging your head against a ceiling.

Part of me wonders, too, if Q and/or Sophia told her that they weren't planning to come back, which would make next season likely far tougher.
I was originally hesitant on posting the news about Susie retiring. I thought some would want to remove the post because it wasn’t specifically pertaining to Toledo. But Coach Cullop (IMO) knows what she’s doing and has gained the attention she deserves. But I truly believe she’s a very good coach

Susie was pushed out. Hasn't done much in a while.

Mayor of Kingstown was not filmed in Pittsburg, was filmed in Hamilton Ontario Canada (all those aerial "industrial" look scenes), Toronto (streets) and Kingston Ontario-on which fictional town of Kingstown MI was based on, especially Kingston Penitentiary

Damn, this doesn't look good. If Cullop is interested in moving on and is willing to take the Pitt job, which is not the world's greatest job, then it is likely she will find something. If that were to happen, our team could be decimated.

Season 2 is in Pittsburgh.

Thing I read said director was scouting around and loved the feel of Pittsburg so they moved for season 2.

Yea just watched season 2 and what was interesting in that many of the "aerial" or city views where clearly used from season 1-reusing footage, having spent time in Hamilton and Kingston one recognizes many of the city views

Yeah, I don't remember her even really humoring interviews in the past. Pitt paid their last coach $610,000 which is a little over double what she is making at UT, so I get it...but still, this could go from one of the best years in UT Athletics history to one of the worst really quickly if Cullop and TK end up looking elsewhere.
Cullop has likely reached the peak of which can be achieved here, IF (and its a big IF) she has bigger career ambitions, this might be best time for her to pursue a much larger opportunity and life changing earnings at a major prograam.

Its unfortunate if she leaves, but remember that Toledo would be a great job to have. So we could have our pick of some great candidates. in this modern era with the transfer portal rebuilding might not be has hard as it once was. The concern I have for WBB is after next year when we would lose Wiard, Goss, Sammy, Hannah, Garcia, Barnes, Curry and Lockett. talk about the cubert being bear!! maybe this is why she is looking!

It definitely makes sense when you look at the roster turnover and the financial side of things.

Don't know where you get that idea about Q & Wiard. Wiard has been telling everyone who's interviewed her in the past 6 months that she is definitely coming back. Q hasn't, but I don't know that anyone ever asked her in an interview (truthfully, the media doesn't give her near the attention she deserves) but, like Edu on the men's side, if there were any thought she wouldn't be back, they would have honored her at senior night.

Now, if Cullop would leave, could one or both of them follow her? Possibly.
