From the March 8th version of http://www.footballscoop.com, it looks like the defense is getting a new corners coach

"Northern Illinois: Darius Eubanks, who has previously worked at Liberty and Georgia State, is expected to join the staff as corners coach, Matt Zenitz tweets."

Sidenote - They need to really clean-up the coaches roster on Huskie website

There is much that needs to be cleaned up on the Huskie website, but details, accuracy, research, editing, and proof-reading are not a priority for Donna Turner and Company.

I always admired Donna Turner ... it is difficult to run a department that is starved for resources.

If NIU does not get their act together and begin growing they will struggle to remain in the MAC. I remember when some board members had disdain for EMU and felt that they should be kicked out of the conference due to the poor performance of their football team. Today they have a better AD and better football performance than NIU.

This is true, but it would not take a lot of resources to do what uiniu mentioned: editing, proofreading, research, etc. Perhaps an educated volunteer can assist. Spelling errors require someone who has the ability to spell and/or proof the copy. Once again, I mention the misspellings of the months on the basketball tickets. My wife noticed it, too, and said that it reflects poorly on NIU Athletics and the university, and that she was embarrassed to have graduated from an institution where such errors are accepted - or not even noticed. How much would it cost to proof what you write?

I would hate to start being the punchline of the old Nebraska University joke where the "N" in the logo stands for knowledge.

When Hall of Famer Bud Nangle retired, Korcek, Nemeth and their secretary (Dianne?) handled things better and had far fewer resources. They recruited, trained, and utilized student assistants, a couple of whom came back as assistants. And technically there were even a few more sports. The EMU example of how what goes around includes highs and lows has a lot of media folks ready for a change in that operation and the website.
He’s official. I’m glad that he played in the NFL and has coaching experience. Relatability matters: https://twitter.com/darius_eubanks/statu...ATiDOsBgkQ

And just like that Coach Eubanks is gone. Leaving to coach at his alma mater.

Lol, we got beat out by Georgia Southern!?
Wow. Reminds me of when Roy manning came here for a couple weeks. Atleast he got duecee here and then left.
Not ideal this close to spring practice starting.

Lol, lose two starting RBs and other players to less successful G5s and now lose an assistant coach who barely had time to eat breakfast to one.
They're in a better conference and their head coach came from a top 10 program after he was fired from USC and he really wasn't bad there. Just wasnt at the standard they have set there. Eubanks probably sees the higher ceiling there and being able to coach for your Alma mater, really a no brainer.

Again the one chance the MAC had at making the conference better overall they blew it with WKU and MTSU not coming over.

What do you consider success? NIU is 17 - 27 the last four seasons. Pretty much a middling MAC team right now which is not all that appealing.

The previous 20 years of success, one and almost two BCS bowls, quite a few 10+ win seasons, etc. Basically prior to Hammock...

Georgia Southern and many other G5s can't touch the history we've had since 2000.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you only want to remember the very recent history you're going to be very depressed.
