Charlotte's up 30-21. Charlotte's defended our sets well but we're also just missing everything. Few haven't been close. Olivari in particular has forced a couple. He almost gets into these mindsets where he knows things aren't clicking on offense and feels responsible for changing that (for better or worse).
32-21 Charlotte at the half. It's not a 30+ point deficit, but the less said about those 20 minutes the better.
Owls shooting 29% to 54% for the 49ers. Both teams have hit two 3 pointers. Of course it took the Owls 14 attempts to do so vs only 6 for Charlotte. Green Light U!

I don’t care for those cocky green beans.

7-0 49ers run , owls trail by 16
Charlotte up 41-25. Gone back to their small ball lineup that worked at Tudor. Makes Fiedler's life really difficult on the defensive side of things.
Lead down to 10. Basketball is better when your team is making shots.
That Charlotte offensive possession at around 5:30...yeesh. One team is fighting harder than the other.
Rice is being outshoot 50% to 35% and being out rebounded by 10 and only down by 11.
Williams for Charlotte traveled before hitting the 3. Three steps - no dribble.
Olivari, Evee, and Mason shooting a combined 27/17/60. Not gonna win many games with that happening.

Evee, over the last 4 games, is 13-36 (36.1%) overall and 5-20 (25%) from 3. Brutal.
Owls look worn out.

How about awful?
From 6-3 in conference to 8-10.

And 0% chance a change is made. Only at Rice.

Too many starters minutes. Not enough depth.

This.

No depth, and little athleticism.

After six seasons, a coach should be expected to, at least once, produce a winning record within the conference. Short of that is failure. And in my opinion, not deserving of continued employment in such a cutthroat, results-oriented business. There are too many other good candidates hungry for a chance to prove themselves.

Well stated. No one in the country tolerates failure like Rice. The university either can't or won't buy out a coaching contract itself, and there are no donors to step in, because none of them care. It's a terrible situation, and it's the reason it's imperative that Rice make good hires, because if it doesn’t work out, we're stuck with a bad coach for the long term.
I gave up on MBB long ago. Since Rice doesn't care why should I loose sleep over it. It's a shame we are wasting money on MBB.
