Just getting this week's thread ready after the last two week's crazy weeks...
Chicago State 74, Coastal Carolina 70

Cougars win their first road game of the year to improve to 5-16.
25 New Mexico 94
Nevada 94

16.3 2OT

Great game, UNM is winless as a ranked team.
Nevada just took advantage of a flagrant foul, hitting one flagrant free throw and then free throws after they got fouled to hang on.

Maybe being ranked is more a curse than a blessing.
25 New Mexico 94
Nevada 97

Final
9 Kansas 69
17 Baylor 75

I think I saw an insane stat that Baylor is 12-1 in their last 13 games against AP Top 10 opponents or something like that. Wow, that's impressive if true.
I'm not surprised by the Baylor win.
Technically, Baylor was favored by two.

Go Cougars!!
Not a laughable score, but sort of a crazy situation.
As of last week's games, the 10-team OVC has a 6-way tie for 1st place.
SIUE
Morehead State
SEMO
UT-Martin
Tennessee Tech
and Southern Indiana, who is in their premiere season of D1.

All of them are at 5-3. Two teams follow at 3-5 and the other two tied for last at 2-6.

I did not know and, yes, that is rather unusual.

Thanks for posting.

Top 5 program right now and for the foreseeable future as long Scott Drew at the helm. I don't remember who it was that called them the most overrated program in the country and insinuated that their 2021 title was a fluke but that has to be the dumbest thing I've ever read on this board. Like I hate Baylor but I recognize that they are one of the few truly elite programs right now.

Forgot this last night but UNM is 0-3 as a ranked team this year.

Just life in the big city. You're gonna have off nights. Sucks for them though in that it severely damages their at-large chances, as they had nothing but elite losses before today's really bad one.
Georgetown won a Big East game!

Forget everything that happened this men's basketball season. Who they beat is who you would have expected they would beat.

Patrick Ewing has Georgetown clicking on all cylinders.
Southern Illinois 68, Murray State 64

Salukis improve to 17-5 and take a half game lead over Belmont atop the Missouri Valley standings. While Belmont has done well in the MVC through half of its conference schedule (8-2), Murray State has found the sledding to be considerably tougher than things were in the OVC. The Racers are 11-10 overall and 6-5 in the MVC.
Murray State and Southern Illinois are long-time rivals whose fan bases hate each other.

With Murray’s first year in the MVC, they’re already brawlin’.

SIU sweeps the Racers. Will the teams meet in St. Louis for Arch Madness? Possibly. The way the MVC is shaping up this year, there's probably 7 or 8 teams that could get the automatic bid. Is anyone good enough to win 3 or 4 games in a row? Time will tell.
^ It looks like SIU/Murray would play a third time as the 1/8 game in Arch Madness.

The two sides are at each other’s throats on twitter and message boards. Murray moms making accusations of SIU fans yelling slurs.

No conference office would be dumb enough, but could you imagine if their seating blocks were next to each other at the MVC Tournament?
