Kansas is playing at K-State tonight. Their records are 16-1 and 15-2. You can be sure that place is LOUD tonight. Basketball matters in Kansas.
Markquis is playing on the big stage tonight.

He is having an off game. Ex-ASU guard Desi Sills has been awesome (20 points with less than 2 minutes left). Just as I was typing this, Markquis had a steal and a bucket to give KSU a 2 points lead.

Overtime!
While Markquis did not have a good game, overall, he made a perfect alley-oop pass for the go-ahead bucket, and then made a steal clinch the one-point OT win over Kansas.
Marquis made more plays to win individual games the season we won the conference than any player I have witnessed in a Trojan uniform. We would have won at least 5 games less that season without his heroics and that would have thrown us closer to .500. He was young and sometimes brash but as I watch him now he seems to have matured and is a winner and a pleasure to watch. I doubt we see another one like him on our campus during us old guys lifetimes.

I loved watching Markquis play as well. There seems to be little doubt that clashes between Darrell and Markquis played the major role in his leaving Little Rock. However, realistically with the Transfer Portal and NIL coming into play, it is hard to imagine that Markquis would have finished his career here regardless. It's sad that the days of us keeping an outstanding freshman here, for 4 seasons, is likely over no matter who are coach is.
Keeping outstanding freshmen ANYWHERE.
K-State may keep shopping in Arkansas, since Desi Sills is an Arkansas State transfer.
