This ain't the watered-down Big East, baby. The Big 12 is now the island of misfit toys and business is cut-throat. Things ain't getting any easier. Kelvin Sampson is returning to kick ass and chew bubble gum. I can't imagine Cincinnati being down for long, and the Marriott Center is 19,000 hostile Mormons.

Recruiting is arguably some of the best it's been at WVU in years according to rankings, being consistently in the 30's. I'd say it's a mix of coaching and being in a conference that's stacked taller than the Big East ever was between 2005 and 2011.

I truly don't think Neal Brown was ready for football on this level, which isn't a shot against the guy. I also think Huggins has run his course after 15 years, but my opinion among fans is surprisingly unpopular. We did get the victory against TCU when they should have lost, but if they fail to make the tournament this year, I think he's on the hot seat (assuming he isn't already).

To be fair, none of the Big East Football teams have had a ton of success.

Neal Brown hasn’t worked out. No program is recession proof if you make a bad hire. Still they were about three plays away from beating the national runner ups. That’s how even the teams in the league are

I was talking more about the teams who left the Big East.

One would assume if you're left behind in a diminished conference, you should have some success.

I can only imagine recruits visiting WV feeling like Rusty Griswold when he met his cousin Dale in "Vacation".

The problem with West Virginia is that it’s in West Virginia. They have this stereotype of toothless cousins having sex , downing Mountain Dew by the barrel full and popping pills by the truckload. It’s sad really b/c the school is awesome
