What a joke. Can't coach. Cost us one more chance in the game. Can't adjust to the other team's adjustments. No discipline. Nobody in the stands. Let's just start over.

Hate having to start over, but we may have little choice.

Starting over, as you say, would be a big breath of fresh air from the garbage dump we are in!

I've seen no evidence that he has brought us any new fans or an extra dollar in donations. I believe Sydney was truly loved and did bring us fans and money. Just didn't bring us wins.

Just curious, where would you expect to see signs DW was bringing in extra donations?

We have discussed this in the past. If he has time left on his contract, do we really have the money to buy him out? With the losses due to Covid and the cost incurred with the recent flooding at Stephens where will the money come from? I guess we could pass a hat around to the 250 or so that attend the games. Is there a donor who cares enough give us a big chunk of money to buy out a coach? I thought all the "big donors" were behind Darrell. Isn't that why we hired him?

I seriously doubt the program has the money to buy out Walker given the state of the program and other considerations you point out. Probably the only way out of this is to just let his current contract run its course and not renew. This is of course is far from the best solution, but the lack of resources may dictate it. We just have to pray that there is a viable program left by the time we can unload him. We can probably hang on as long as we have Joe Foley to give our fans something decent to watch on the women’s side.
I think you are mistaken that “all of the big donors” we behind the hiring of Walker. There were two, and of those, only one’s family has ever done anything for the program. It’s hard to turn down a request from a guy whose family gave the money for your arena, but when it’s not in the best interest of the program, it has to be done. And the Waltons have never done anything for Little Rock’s athletic program. But as you point out, we had a naive bad Chancellor who was snowed by the names and got suckered. So this is what you get when you don’t let your Athletic Director do what he knows how to do, and let people who have no clue about hiring a basketball coach dictate actions. As far as I know, no one other than those two big names were behind the Walker hire, and nothing has been received by the program from them since they got their way.
And let’s just hope that our fans who have finally seen the light on the huge error it was to hire Walker, don’t backslide on the wisdom of getting rid of him every time the Little Rock men are fortunate enough to pull out a win.
