Backup QBs always go portal. Has to be the highest % of all positions.
Clemson starting QB enters:

Clemson Tigers quarterback DJ Uiagalelei officially entered the transfer portal Monday after a topsy-turvy season in which he was ultimately benched by coach Dabo Swinney in the ACC title game.

Uiagalelei, a junior, finished his final season with 2,521 passing yards and 22 touchdowns to go with seven interceptions, as the Tigers went 11-2.

"God has brought me to this special place for a reason and I woudn't trade my time here for anything," Uiagalelei posted to Twitter on Monday. "I am very thankful and appreciative of the staff, trainers and my coaches for believing in me and pushing me every day to be the best I can both on and off the field.

"After careful consideration I would like to say that I have decided to enter the transfer portal."
I predict there are going to be a lot of disappointed college kids.
The portal cuts both ways. As in every competition there are winners and losers. This is one area where CRS seems to be a winner.

The last 3 season since transfers became easier, its averaging 40% of transfers find a new home.
Over 1000 the first day

I dunno about that.
Everyone is going to lose backups and bench guys - it's human nature.
But losing/finding starters is probably the measuring stick.
We've had some pickups - but also some big losses (Eze, Carter, Washington, etc.).
Not sure what the numbers say, but just looking around, I'd say we're middle of the pack.

You serious, Clark?
That is much worse than I imagined.

Not everyone who enters the portal do so solely on their own accord. I think it’s fair to say some are “encouraged” to enter to free up their scholarship.

While I would have assumed that most portal entries would be moving to a perceived lower school, with less than 10% getting promoted. That stat is saying most are giving up football altogether.

What has been suprising is the number of starting QBs that are entering the portal. Some have even had really good years on good teams and they are still transferring. It is really odd. I am hoping that we are not seeing college players beginning to be tampered with and promised more NIL money to lure players away from their current situations.
Memphis hasn't really lost anyone super valuable to the portal in a while outside of Tahj and arguable Joseph Dorceus. The safety this year was a starter but he was getting burnt left and right so I'm okay with that parting.

Losing Gibson hurt a lot. He would have been our primary target and big time play maker.

Correct, my mistake! 04-cheers

I guess my mind defaulted to the NBA player...
I believe Bama already has 8-9 players that have entered the portal...

I think we won the portal this past year (Ducker, Scates, Cantin-Arku, Chris Howard).
We definitely lost the year before (Tahj, Eze, TJ, Dorceus).

Interesting contrast with Bama is that UGA took no transfers last season even after losing 15-16 guys to the NFL draft. Don't recall seeing anyone UGA lost to transfer either. Would think that's a difficult feat given so many 4-5 stars on that roster.
