Quote:Weapons supplied to Ukraine from Western countries are "starting to flow" into the Lake Chad basin region, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari warned this week.

Addressing the heads of states from neighboring states participating in the Lake Chad Basin Commission on Tuesday in the Nigerian capital of Abuja, the president said, "Regrettably, the situation in the Sahel and the raging war in Ukraine serve as major sources of weapons and fighters that bolster the ranks of the terrorists in the region."

Buhari then urged his counterparts to increase security cooperation in order to confront the issue of arms smuggling.

Quote:In August, an American news outlet unmasked that a shockingly large amount of weaponry heading for Ukraine was untraceable. "Like 30% of it reaches its final destination," said a tweet that was later deleted after a swarm of online trolls attacked it.

Of course they are
A lot like EBT... If you are given guns and you want missiles, you sell them for 30 cents on the dollar and buy missiles on the black market.
I make it a rule to take anything uttered by a Nigerian prince or dictator with a bucket of salt. As for 30% of weapons being untraceable once they reached their destination---thats what happens in a war zone where people are killed, delivery trucks destroyed, crap gets blown up, weapons depots are destroyed, overrun, left behind and captured. Hell---I suspect Russia doesnt know where a ton of their armored vehicles, equipment, and weapons are because Ukrainians captured them and are now using the stuff to target Russians.
That’s what happens when the whole thing is nothing more than grift.
Guess who is happy? US Arms dealers. They really don't give a fck where the hardware ends up after payment and lost weapons just means more to sell.

It's not a false claim that war creates prosperity...especially where they are manufactured.
The important thing is woke defense contractors get to make lots of money.
The Dems ALWAYS get us into wars.

What wars have they gotten us in? Iraq, Afghanistan, then Iraq again were all Republicans.

WW I, WWII, Korea, Vietnam. Of course those were all when the neocons were democrats. They moved to the republican side in the 1960s and look who started getting us into wars then. It's the neocons who are the warmongers.

I'm ready for a libertarian foreign policy--free trade, non-intervention, and nuclear non-proliferation--backed up by the strongest military in the world, bar none. We avoid war because nobody dares pick a fight with us, and we don't go around picking on them. And non-intervention is not isolation; Switzerland is non-intervention, North Korea is isolation.

04-cheers

Completely agree on that point.
There are a lot of Republicans that aren’t republicans

I could go with almost-free trade.

If you're an American company and you manufacture elsewhere, 35% tariffs for you.
by design. creating a problem.

Here's a more recent one from the Dems: Bosnia.

We shouldn't pretend that either party is adverse to killing when it serves their purposes. We should remember that. Keep your powder dry.

Do a national consumption tax (VAT/GST). A 15% VAT would mean a 15% tax on that item when landed in the USA, and it wouldn't count as a tariff so it wouldn't upset any GATT provisions or free trade agreements. Everybody else does it except the USA. It's a big reason for offshoring and a big reason why manufacturing is leaving. Also, why we have a hard time negotiating favorable trade deals.
As I see it, the USA is currently facing three potentially existential issues:

1) The loss of USA manufacturing, particularly offshoring of essential items
2) The rise of China as a threat in the Asia-Pacific region
3) The national debt and deficit

I don't see anybody doing anything useful to address any of them.

While he willfully ignored your 3rd bullet point completely, Trump did try to address the first two. We see how the electorate rewarded him for that. We want fluff, screw the substance.

You must not have counted the votes to go to war, because there were plenty of dem votes. Keep in mind, on the way out of office Clinton told Bush that Saddam was making a WMD. Both Clinton's, once again, said it, when we went to war with Iraq.

You also have Libya that your boy Obama attacked with Hillary because they were going to do whatever was necessary to stop the Gold Dinarii from being added to the currency list.

A country with free water/utilities/medical/school/college/ subsidized gas/ housing and many other perks.... but ole Hilary said humanitarian reasons...

nope, just oil and gold, same as all ways.

Did you know Obama bombed more countries than both the Bush's combined? Bet your ole liberal teacher didn't tell you about that one huh?
