I’ll go ahead and tell you so you won’t have to guess.

A. They’re all going to be AAC 2.0 conference buddies
B. They’re all playing football this weekend

Other fun facts about this triumvirate:
C. Two of them are ranked nationally
D. Two of them are playing against each other on Friday
E. At most one of them can lose this weekend.

Any thoughts or feedback about the above four facts (plus one prediction pretending to be a fact)?

In 2013, all three were in CUSA with Rice (and ECU and Tulsa). North Texas handed champion Rice it's only conference defeat of 2013, but UNT's two losses to Tulane and UTSA kept it out of the conference championship, and in this person's opinion kept the Mean Green from winning the crown

Just curious, did you post this topic here in the Off Topic board, or was it moved? Thanks.

Rice fans are smart, and start threads where they belong

Rice fans are smart, and start threads where they belong

Why does it belong here? The thread is clearly a combination of current and future AAC football programs. Seems it could have just as easily been posted on the regular board.
UAB is hiring a high school coach and UNT/Rice keeping theirs. Maybe y’all do belong here.

UTSA/Tulane belong on the main board.
I like you, Pony94.
True story.

The original post in this thread was going to be an on-topic discussion of the two championship games coming up this weekend from the perspective of the “next-iteration“ teams named in the title.

Sprinkled with a bit of tongue-in-cheek at the first attempt at starting such a thread on the main board.

But intended for a serious discussion of the CUSA game, since there’s already a game thread for the Tulane game against those citra knots.

Brilliantly written, if I do say so myself, to be squarely on-topic for the main board, I re-read before posting and agreed with my initial assessment of myself with how brilliantly it was written. No doubt in part, as mentioned previously, Rice fans are so smart.

Now, yes, I had read Side Show’s posts and a little of the backstory about how his had gotten moved to “off topic”. I almost never lurk to the “off topic” board nether regions but I had to come in and see what was so off-topic about it that crossed the line.

Research, if you will, for my brilliantly written post intended to both inform discourse and stay on-topic for the American Athletic Conference forum.

And that’s where I was when I hit my submit post button!

I immediately realized my unplanned ‘mistake’ but found the misstep so hilarious that I left it right here.

Now, it is incumbent upon Meep or another AAC Roadrunner fan to create a *proper* game thread as home team for the upcoming game between incoming AAC teams. And to do this in accordance with the Official Game Thread rules which have been refined and venerated and handed down from the ages and from our forefathers UConn and their forefathers Louisville before them. (Cincinnati I think of more as just ‘that crazy uncle’)

Do this in the manner properly proscribed and there shall be much rejoicing and celebration of almost the best case scenario Championship weekend from an AAC 2.0 fan’s perspective.
E. is inaccurate.
