Didn’t realize Valpo changed its mascot from Crusaders to the Beacons. I get the Crusaders context but Jesus Christ are we really tying events from over 1000 years ago to a college nickname? Plus there was plenty of blame to go around in all of that if you know the history.

Game is chippy and I imagine there will be some elbows before this thing is over. Asst Coach talked in pregame about Val fouling in their earlier game when people went to the rim. Amadi already took exception to a shove earlier I imagine and looks like Dukes have taken exception to something going on out there. has helped with their defensive intensity...but Val is still hitting at a pretty high percentage. Not a knock on our D, they're just hitting shots. Doesn't look like a 2-4 team

Makes sense but it seems as if this was something that was being discussed for a while.
This is the kind of game against a well-known mid-major that we need to win.
Get the feeling from following play by play that neither team will pull away. Just get out with a win and move on.
foul shooting has been a huge disappointment , and not a good sign in a game that seems like it's going to the wire.

we are taking a lot of hard drives to the hoop and have missed some contested shots. With 3 or 4 of Valpo guys with 4 fouls, I think the refs are a little hesitant to send someone to the bench. Or maybe their coach throwing a hissy fit all game finally got to them. I keep waiting for a few of Valpo's starters to get sent to the pine.
