Eagle King reminded us of this significant and incredible accomplishment by Jose Ramirez. He ended up with 12 sacks and I would bet he’s a top 1-4 NFL draft pick!

Great job Jose Ramirez and coaching staff! Congratulations!!

DE Pat O’Connor - Active NFL player

DE Maxx Crosby - Active NFL Player statistically leading in several categories

DE Jose Ramirez - Regular season NCAA 2 nd place Sack Leader

DE - who is next??

2022 ncaa football sack leader
I'd pump the brakes on 1-4 round draft pick but he definitely gave himself a chance at possibly being a late round pick.

Going to be difficult to replace. By the way I believe Jaden Gaines was out for most of this year. Maybe the NCAA will grant him an extra year. It was one of our hopefuls at DE.
I think Jose is a draft pick. He'd have to really show out to be considered in the first couple rounds though.
He has been fabulous!

You know what I like? I've seen Ohio State play and they supposedly have two NFL edge rushers. The OSU guys go all out for the sack and often let the QB get around them as we saw versus U-M yesterday. They are sack oriented and rank 6th and 8th on their team with respect to tackles.

Jose, by contrast, has more sacks, but more importantly he is the THIRD leading tackler on our football team.

Kline 87 tackles
Sparacio 84
Ramirez 63

An edge rusher that close to your linebackers in tackles is just insane! Even Mad Maxx only got 39 to Rachwal's 78. Jose has been freaking GREAT!
Congrats to Jose. He worked his ass off and by all accounts seems like a great teammate.

We were lucky to have him. Hope he gets drafted early. Someone will get a great one.

Agree from above that O’Connor, and Crosby have paved the way for Jose. If he shines during the combine, I believe he could be a 4th round pick.

Will he get invited to the combine? In recent history, Maxx is the only one to be invited.

I would think/hope so.

As has been pointed out, his statistics from this season should warrant the invite in and of itself. On top of that, he's shown growth since he started in Ypsi back in 2019. He's been an absolute joy to watch.
Jose was nominated as a finalist for national DE of the award and was invited to the East/West Shire Bowl, so he is getting plenty of attention outside Ypsi.

Hello E-Tough!

Maxx is fricking wreaking havoc in the NFL! I’m sure you are a very proud dad as you should be! Also congratulations on Maxx’s baby girl!

Great to hear from you. EMU is a DE factory, pun intended. 02-13-banana

There is no write-up on him, but it should be noted that Jose and Quinyon Mitchell (DB, Toledo) were the only non-P5 players included.

You’ll need Insider to read the whole article, but I’ll post the important part:

Kiper: You want sleepers, I have sleepers. Thomas Incoom (Central Michigan) had an incredibly productive season, with 11.5 sacks and 19 total tackles for loss, and Jose Ramirez (Eastern Michigan) put up 12 sacks. Both have the tools NFL teams look for in pass-rushers late on Day 2 or early on Day 3.
