Another great throw by coaches favorite QB.
Ham should at the very least apologize to the seniors. There’s no way guys like Tucker and Pugh deserve to be involved in a game like this in their final moments in a Huskie uniform.

You get one rebuild in college not two. A second one shows you had no idea what the hell you are doing. I was reading about some of the transfers akron got in this season. LSU, penn state and I think Pitt. Need the same for us.
I think the college football world is too fast to fire coaches for bad seasons. Winning matters, but some times things just don’t pan out. With that said, I say Hammock should get next year, but just so all of you in the board know….the athletic department administration loves him. IF he doesn’t produce next year, you may get frustrated with their commitment to him

No other program in the country would allow a second rebuild. But I bet STF would

This is awful coaching.

Everything about the team is awful. The players, the scheme, the coaching. Obviously hammock built this team, so it’s all on him.

I doubt he gets fired. He won a MAC title. He gets another season. Shake this one off. If rocky comes back i believe he is a difference maker.
And Fletcher and Lomax have protected their eligibility for when they get out of here. Maybe *that's* why Hammock put a walk-on in when Lombardi/Lynch/Hampton were out.

NIU has single-handedly made the first-year Akron HC look good for next year. An accomplishment?
Yeah, so.... Nev ain't it

This is the problem with what Hammock has built, or lack thereof. The success of the entire program is riding on one transfer player and it is a player that has only played a full season once in five years. After four years this program and roster should be considerably better than that.

Very true. But, the fact is if Rocky is back this team will be bowling next season. I think the staff Hammock has built us awful…they deserve to be fired after this season but won’t be.
Maybe that TV announcer comment was a leak so the players can take some heat. If so -- and I obviously and sincerely hope not -- NIU may not have much of a team next year. I can't remember hearing anything like that since the Scott Frost fiasco at Nebraska. And we ain't them.

But where does the TV guy get such an idea to put it out there? That's what some used to call "an incendiary remark." Trouble in Huskieland may be bigger than we thought.
I feel like next season could be a great reality TV show. Like Gordon Ramsay comes in and yells at the coaches and players telling them how horrible they are in an attempt to save the team.
Can you seriously see STF doing that?

And has anyone seen an NIU football team actually play like who cares? I seem to recall a Poinsettia Bowl thing with Boise State, but ...

Maybe Scott frost would be open to our OC position. Hell of a recruiter IMO just nebraska expected national championships.

Him coming here was sarcastic. One TH is not getting rid of Eidness and two he will get a HC position again shortly
I like Hammock and hope the best for the guy but ... maybe Frost would do better at NIU as an HC. I mean, just look at how low *our* expectations are.

Obviously, just joking. Frost can't be that desperate.

Meanwhile ... FOUR FREAKIN' FIELD GOALS! AGAINST AKRON!
Who is injured or just being rested for next season… or a player requesting to not play before they go into portal? Waylee injured but then plays, Just do not know what the heck is going on.

Who is that desperate?

Art Briles. Jim Leavitt. Nick Rolovich.
I am in the Hammock gets one more year camp, but today’s game is definitely a low point, end this season as quick as possible and let’s move on.
Hammock has always said he talks to each player at the end of the season. He gives them an honest evaluation of their status. After that, some guys, knowing where they stand, decide to leave. You can like it or not—— but that end of season evaluation that the announcer decided to call an “exit interview” and that he said that’s not the right term— is something he has done since his first year. Nothing new. So calm down!
From worst in 2020, to first in 2021, to worst in 2022. It's a roller coaster we don't want to be on, or shouldn't have to be on. Feel bad for the seniors going out in a blowout by 1-9 Akron.

I had high hopes for this year, no hope for next year. expect more of the same.
