FWIW, it is mathematically impossible for Akron to finish anywhere other that alone in last place in the MAC, so looks like we won't get that "second time in three seasons" you're concerned about.
NIU is bad but you still only get 1 win for beating us.
HuskieWire article says that Tucker doesn't know if he will get to play in the last game as a Huskie due to his injury.

Put the pipe down, we're a season remove from the MAC Championship. We had injury prone year that damage all chances of defending. We have at the very least above average line play with a QB WR receiver tandem returning healthy we will challenge for the title and go to a bowl game.

We have to balance the last two seasons - over achieving with overly injured. There’s a truth somewhere in there. We also have to objectively analyze the recruiting and coaching. NIU will be competing for the MAC West next season. But NIU will also be a team that should be ranked around 80-90. We have a chance to to win the MAC bc the rest of the mac has dropped down. NIU didn’t rise up. Hammock still has time to prove his recruiting and coaching chops. But that time is running out soon.

The Turds aren't even that good this year and will probably lose the MACC. If we had 3/4 of last years team NIU would be the west champs, but coulda-woulda-shoulda.
