"Two wins over FCS teams." This is incorrect. New Mexico State played Lamar (Southland) only. All other opponents were FBS opponents.

App has gone from the euphoria of the TAMU win and the miracle vs Troy to being on the verge of not qualifying for a bowl.

Quite a turnaround.

plus, have we officially announced we're not making up the game with SJSU?

I've heard nothing about making up that game; all I know is that New Mexico State has two regular season games left (@Missouri, @Liberty). Win those, and the Aggies would be bowl-eligible.

I don't see the Aggies winning either game, but the chance is still there.

I believe that SJSU wanted to make the game up on championship weekend, with the caveat that they wouldn't participate if they made the MWCG. NMSU didn't find this acceptable, of course, so we declined. But now that it appears that Fresno State is the favorite to take the berth, I could see it happening.

Army is Navy's bowl game!! The Big Game should be pretty good this year, considering that neither Cal nor Stanford are going bowling this year. I kind of doubt that Auburn makes it, but they could surprise.

NMSU was trying to schedule a replacement for schools with a November 5 bye.

Possibilities were Nevada and Wyoming who could play a 13th game because they had played in Hawaii (Western Kentucky was the only school that played in Hawaii and took the option to play 13 games, the others used the exemption to play a Week 0 game and have two byes even though both exemptions may be used).

Sam Houston and Jacksonville State also had byes that week, and since they aren't eligible for the FCS playoffs could play an extra game.

But after November 5 passed, they were trying to get a game during the CCG week. San Jose would be a possibility, but they might be in the Mountain West championship game, and NMSU didn't want to schedule a game with a team that might not show up.

The San Jose State game was at NMSU, and schools whose season is essentially over might not want to travel to Las Cruces.
I was under the impression that the NMSU vs SJSU game was supposed to get played CCG weekend, provided:

SJSU wasn’t in the MWC CCG
the game had bowl eligibility implications for at least 1 team

Unless NMSU upsets both Missouri and Liberty that condition wouldn't be met, since San Jose is already eligible.
I don't think that bowl eligibility was a condition. Mario said that to get a team that is not SJSU to agree to a game on CCG game weekend with very little notice, the opponent would probably need to be on the cusp of being bowl eligible. Else there's nothing to be gained. SJSU of course has contractual obligations.
After seeing the coach Lea interview yesterday after they beat Kentucky I'm rooting for Vandy to win 6. I know it's doubtful but I would love to see it.
