They went ASUN from the Southland when the ASUN had the big dream of moving the whole conference to FBS.
But, if the 10 conferences go to 20? Some of the G5 needs to find the numbers.

I think KSU, FIU, MTSU, Liberty and WKU go to SBC.

ASU, La.-Lafayette, La.-Monroe, Texas State, UCA, Missouri State goes to CUSA.

SBC could look at EKU, NC A&T, UNA, Chattanooga, Delaware, Youngstown State, APSU could go to the SBC.

Tarleton State, SFAU, Utah Tech, Lamar, ACU, McNeese State, Central Oklahoma could go to CUSA.

I highly doubt the Conference USA and the Sunbelt will go to 20 teams. The only two conferences that will go to 20 teams are the SEC and the Big Ten.

Besides, even in this scenario, MTSU and WKU will not allow their in-state rivals to join. Kennesaw State would get blocked by Georgia State and Georgia Southern, and North Alabama would get blocked by Troy and South Alabama. Also, Youngstown State and Delaware make more sense as MAC teams than Sunbelt teams.

It makes sense, with Jacksonville State and Kennesaw State moving from the ASUN to CUSA.

It's also why the talk of "Why didn't the G5 kill CUSA?" was a joke, because CUSA always had more than enough candidates to backfill.

C-USA would probably have been at the point where even FCS teams wouldn’t have been willing to join the conference if WKU and MTSU had joined the MAC.

It's clear that you really want this to be true. But how often will it need to be pointed out to you that it isn't?

A thousand times it's been pointed out that CUSA just would have added two more FCS schools.

I expect maybe by next year in football we'll hear another expansion announcement. 12 later it's what needed as WKU is looking to leave and. MTSU might want the AAC. Both could go to the MAC at the very least. I think to cover any potential movement they need to get back to 12.

If WKU and MTSU leave, CUSA could just stay at 8 or invite new teams at that time. That's not a reason to expand now.

This was also true before adding KSU.

I'd recommend getting some sleep instead of posting at 3:30 in the morning.

Yes, if they need 60-70 more FBS teams, they'll have to find a lot of schools to upgrade. 02-13-banana
Huge props to Central Oklahoma making an appearance.

Sounds like from St. David is hearing we'll eventually see a SBC/C-USA realignment with the schools West of the Mississippi River reporting to Judy.
