Well that's interesting. I figured it would be Big East or stay put in the WCC.
Now THIS is a move. It also covers the "coast to coast" nature of his statements.

Weird geography, but that would be one of the top Basketball conferences getting one of the top remaining brands.

Notre Dame is a partial member in the ACC … increase the NCAA Basketball Credits
If Gonzaga does joins the B12 as a non football member, maybe the Big East schools and/UConn can, too?

Weird geography, but not as weird as the Zags in the Big East would have been.

Not as weird as USC/UCLA to the Big Ten, for that matter.
WOW. If the Big East wants Gonzaga, they better just stop waiting and make the move now. Once Gonzaga's in the Big XII, it's highly unlikely they'll pay a massive exit fee to switch from one P6 to another P6 further away.
Would Gonzaga really move the needle for Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, and Colorado?

Do the Zags choose the Big East over the Big XII+?

Seems like a natural for poll question

Doubt it. But it would give the B12 even more to work with in making their case as the undisputed #1 basketball conference.

Gets them into the Pacific timezone as well for potential better media contracts down the line, without needing to worry about the 4C at all (who would then obviously just be a bonus for it all).
Also, Gonzaga has seemingly leveraged the WCC to the point where there's probably not much else to be gained.

Can't imagine these discussions with the Big XII would be going on — much less be made public — if Mark Few and Co. didn't have one foot out the door.

Probably can expect a "who should the WCC add when Gonzaga leaves" thread on this board any moment now :)

I'll go with the Seattle U Chieftains!
It certainly makes sense for the Big 12 with its top basketball brand to seek out Gonzaga and I'm quite sure BYU is lobbying hard for the Zags addition.
I like this move. I hope they can seal the deal
Odd fit since the XII is already quite good in BB.
This from an interview that John Canzano had with Mark Few last week:
https://www.johncanzano.com/p/canzano-go...the-pac-12

Gonzaga has been talking with a number of consultants and conferences, including the Pac-12. The current round of expansion discussions have focused on football and media rights valuations.

“I think what you’re seeing with the first run is football. The next run you’ll see will be programs in the basketball realm that can move the needle and actually generate TV review, generate eyeballs and have a brand,” Few said.

“Through this whole run we’ve positioned ourselves really, really well,” Few said. “Those conversations have been in the mix with all of those conferences, quite frankly. Everybody is jostling around, seeing what they’re doing.”

“We just need to look and kind of make a really solid, prudent decision,” Few said. “So far what we’ve been doing has been working pretty good also, but the landscape is changing and we’re aware of that.”

Either Jason Scheer or Wilzano PR Strategies is gonna taking a few months' worth of victory laps once the the Pac-12's future is settled
1) This wouldn't have been leaked unless both parties are interested. At this point, I'd be surprised if it doesn't happen.
2) Would there be a second non-football member of the Big 12? Wichita State is in the footprint and would go in a heartbeat, but KU would veto their application just as quickly.
3) The day after Gonzaga leaves the WCC, Seattle joins (returns) to replace them.
We've got to say this much for Yappy Yormark.

He's not cut from the same cloth as Bob Bowlsby or Dan Beebe
