South Alabama travels to Statesboro this week to take on the #4 passing offense in the country in Georgia Southern. (That's so strange to type). I hope the Jag secondary is ready for this one! The Jags have never won in Statesboro, but was that mojo tied to the triple option?

FPI says this game is our best chance for victory out of the 4 we have remaining on the schedule. I say USA is a complete team and we will have to have a complete effort like the JMU or ODU games to even have a chance. Go Eagles!
I know who I'm rooting for 05-stirthepot
This should be a really good game!
I wrote a computer program many years ago that would predict the outcome of a game if you fed it the stats of each team. It shows the Jags 1.4 points better on a neutral field. With 3 points for home field advantage then GS would have an advantage of 1.6 points. ESPN has GS with a 52.7% chance of winning. Sagarin’s ratings has this a dead heat with a tenth of a point advantage for GS.
The East teams have been beating up on each other and have been up and down week to week. This is a great measuring stick game for us to tell us if we belong in the top half or the bottom half of the conference.

South has a complete team on both sides of the ball. Defense is great at causing turnovers which is bad for us.

Second road game in a row for South while we are coming off a bye week.
We lost a key contributor for the season in all-purpose back Amare Jones. The defense has improved in the Red Zone but still has lots of holes. I'd say USA has the more complete team and GS has played pretty good ball at home.

***Despite media reports, GS hasn't run anything resembling a Triple Option offense since 2013. We had an inside zone option offense out of the pistol with Fritz 2014-15. 2016-2021 were horrible offenses that managed to score points sometimes on broken plays and sheer luck.
The fact that we (GS) have an offense to cover up a lot of what our defense cranks out is pretty impressive. I'm predicting something like 27-21 GS or USA, depending on whether the version of our defense that shows up is a standard BM or a toilet shattering catastrophe.
Should be a good game. Rooting for the west guy!!

Eveyrone should know who you're rooting for. No news here.
This should be a good game. Of all the games left, this one worries me the most. I was glad to see McReynold's back last week and Webb looking more like himself. We'll need them both.
Go South

Yep! Throwing the ball is the new gimmick. We've tinkered with it this year.
Hoping for a South win today, but if they do it won't be easy. The Eagles are playing a lot better this year and they're tough to beat at home. Go Jags!
This will be a tough game for the Jags. GS probably has the best offensive attack we’ve faced so far this year, at least in terms of our weakness (pass defense). We’ll need to limit the big plays and score a bunch. Looking forward to a good game.
Go Southern I think. I really want the West to beat the East but I mean it’s South…

Well, if you guys don't beat Louisiana and we lose then South basically takes the driver's seat in the west.
Slow start for South so far.
Not many people in attendance. But the best possible start for GS
Terrible clock management for USA before the half.
